That reminds me of a BFD-English dictionary/phrasebook I was working on recently. Here are some excerpts:
"You don't scare me" - I have minefields and your engineers are on the other side of the map
"I propose an alliance" - I am going to stab you in the back in literally less than an hour
"He could take you out in one turn but it depends on where your supply caches are" - I am trying to trick you into telling me where your supply caches are so I can take you out in one turn
"That was just a small demonstration of my power" - I have no offensive units left
"We are a peaceful nation" - I am willing to sell out my allies to get you to attack them instead
"I declare war" - I am trying to take out a player on the other side of the map from you
"I am a turtle" - I won the last game and am now concerned the other players are going to try to stomp me

Hey, I did that because I saw how powerful a pure-offensive build was and wanted to try a pure-defensive build.
I'm still waiting for one or more sets of deployment orders. If I don't get them in by tomorrow I'll start sending out annoying reminder PMs.

If you guys are talking about that picture Marshall posted, technically that's a tortoise not a turtle, so he strictly didn't steal your line...

If we don't get a sub in 24 hours, I'll just NPC yellow. Yellow NPC will assume a strategy of neutrality and not attacking unless attacked. (I say this because it's unfair for me as the GM to play as an NPC. I know where all your supply caches and units are and so on.)
Yellow is NPCed. I've already set up yellow's deployment and I've now got deployments from all players but there was an issue with one set of orders. I'm talking to that player now.
Diplomacy Phase - Turn 1
Well, we have a very interesting initial deployment (see above) for several players.
I trust most of you know the drill by now. You each get $50 to spend on new units, or you may choose to attack! If you choose to attack you don't get any units but the war phase begins next turn and you get priority in the game order. Due to a recent rules change, your opponents get to keep the stuff they bought if you attacked but they didn't.
