and a Fantasy Game.
I'd prefer to see the Dark Ages before fantasy.

Good line, but preferably there would be a game in-between Rome II and Crusader Kings II, and another game before Rome II. Making for:

"Fantasy Game" (Myth Building) -> "Antiquity Game" -> Rome II -> "Dark Ages Game" -> Crusader Kings II -> Europa Universalis IV -> Victoria III -> Hearts of Iron IV -> "Cold War Game" -> Stellaris

Just out of curiosity do you guys really think it would be fun to play the same country for 2000 years? Surely after a couple centuries any empire would cover the map, so what would be the fun to continue after that?

Personally I never play any of my EU, ROME or CK2 Games to the end as I usually get bored after 200 - 250 years, once I am big enough. But maybe that just me. Do you play your games to the end?

I personally don't try covering the map. Then it might require some additional modding to ensure that the AI is slightly more restricted (there can be empires that are a challenge but then a plausible analysis of that realm should be possible).

If I have an idea of a megacampaign, yes.

A Rome game from the founding of the republic to the death of Nero. The DLC maybe could extend the timeline all the way to the collapse of western Rome. Modders could make it end to the annexation of the eastern Roman Empire successor states :)

Would love to see a purchase of the Black & White IP now that Lionhead studios was shut down.

To see Paradox make Black & White 3 makes my hearth go warm :)

Also, I would love to see Paradox try to take on more kinds of city builders like Anno 1404 or Civ5 and compete.

Personally, I'd love a game set as a cold war spy agency.

There wouldn't be an emphasis on war. Just all intrigue. You'd choose a spy agency from one of several nations and attempt to either help your side "win" the cold war, stay free from either side's influence. Wars would just be a means to expand your agency's influence and control, all the while you have to deal with a meddlesome bureaucracy and famous events.

Victoria III needs to be the next one on the docket.

As for my dream PDS game timeline

  • Terra Sauri: (dinosaur civilization game set before KT extinction, can be converted over to Mythos)
  • Mythos: (fantasy theme game with Elves, Orcs, Wizards, Amazons and whatnot; can be converted over to Sunrise of Civilization
  • Sunrise of Civilization: (Ancient Antiquity game from the rise of human civilization to the death of Alexander the Great)
  • Roma Universalis: (Antiquity game from the founding of Rome to the final division of the Roman Empire in 395 AD).
  • Barbarian Warlords: (Dark age game from the final division of the Roman Empire to the death of Charlemagne).
  • Crusader Kings II: (Medieval age game from 769 to 1453).
  • Europa Universalis IV: (Renaissance and early Industrial age game from 1444 to 1820).
  • Victoria III: (Industrial age game from 1836 to 1936).
  • Hearts of Iron IV: (World War II themed game).
  • Eagle and the Bear: (Cold War themed game).
  • Pax Americana: (Current era themed game).
  • Stellaris: (Sci-Fi themed game).

I'd really like to see a stone age through iron age game set as the leader of a tribe set in a map stretching across Mesopotamia/Egypt, and you have to progress from a small tribe fighting for every valley and pond to eventually forming a nation in late game, shaping your culture and building monuments/wonders along the way.

I'd love to see something set in the Bronze Age, preferably with chariots. The old Slitherine game "Chariots of War" covered the era, but was far more shallow and primitive in its execution than the last couple of generations of Paradox titles.

Before that, however, I think we need another Victoria fix for our habit.
