PREFACE
So, I had played a game of Victoria 2 up to 1936 when I began to wonder what would happen if I continued it. I didn't have any real reason to continue, as I had exceeded my goals for that particular run, but curiosity got the best of me. What would happen? Technological stagnation? Overpopulation? Mass revolution? World war? Something completely different?
After looking into it, I decided that I could play to 2000 without any major glitches. Starting were most AARs stop, this is what happened.
The World in 1936:
Great powers
1. United Kingdom- The UK had a pretty typical game. It grabbed a large chunk of Africa and China, which prevented China from westernizing.
2. USA- The USA also had a standard game. It managed to cut deep into the heart of Mexico.
3. Germany- I played as Hanover, eventually forming Greater Germany and becoming the dominant power in continental Europe after a string of successful wars. All the political reforms were passed, along with a few social reforms. Germany didn't have many colonies other than some West African regions and the island of Java.
4. Russia- Russia managed to industrialize and colonize all over Asia, grabbing much of Persia and Central Asia.
5. France- France was on top, colonies spread over the globe, when around 1915 it's economy took a dive. After 20 years it has recovered, but it will never be in the number 1 slot again.
6. Mexico- Mexico became a communist rump state after repeated US invasions. This doesn't stop it from influencing its communist neighbor in Central America.
7. Ottoman Empire- Despite repeated invasions and the fall of it's sphereling Egypt, the Ottomans control the Suez canal and maintan great power status.
8. Sweden- Sweden is barely a great power, but holds onto a spot nonetheless.
I will also keep track of the following statistics to provide a cross-section of the world economy. Germany's population gives an indication of world population growth. Grain shows the demand for basic consumer goods, radios, advanced consumer goods, and aeroplanes, military goods.
Goods
Grain: Supply-40857 Demand-50233
Radios: Supply-578 Demand-3192
Aeroplanes: Supply-274 Demand-585
Population (Germany)
240 million
