PREFACE
So, I had played a game of Victoria 2 up to 1936 when I began to wonder what would happen if I continued it. I didn't have any real reason to continue, as I had exceeded my goals for that particular run, but curiosity got the best of me. What would happen? Technological stagnation? Overpopulation? Mass revolution? World war? Something completely different?

After looking into it, I decided that I could play to 2000 without any major glitches. Starting were most AARs stop, this is what happened.

The World in 1936:
Great powers
1. United Kingdom- The UK had a pretty typical game. It grabbed a large chunk of Africa and China, which prevented China from westernizing.

2. USA- The USA also had a standard game. It managed to cut deep into the heart of Mexico.

3. Germany- I played as Hanover, eventually forming Greater Germany and becoming the dominant power in continental Europe after a string of successful wars. All the political reforms were passed, along with a few social reforms. Germany didn't have many colonies other than some West African regions and the island of Java.

4. Russia- Russia managed to industrialize and colonize all over Asia, grabbing much of Persia and Central Asia.

5. France- France was on top, colonies spread over the globe, when around 1915 it's economy took a dive. After 20 years it has recovered, but it will never be in the number 1 slot again.

6. Mexico- Mexico became a communist rump state after repeated US invasions. This doesn't stop it from influencing its communist neighbor in Central America.

7. Ottoman Empire- Despite repeated invasions and the fall of it's sphereling Egypt, the Ottomans control the Suez canal and maintan great power status.

8. Sweden- Sweden is barely a great power, but holds onto a spot nonetheless.

I will also keep track of the following statistics to provide a cross-section of the world economy. Germany's population gives an indication of world population growth. Grain shows the demand for basic consumer goods, radios, advanced consumer goods, and aeroplanes, military goods.

Goods
Grain: Supply-40857 Demand-50233
Radios: Supply-578 Demand-3192
Aeroplanes: Supply-274 Demand-585

Population (Germany)
240 million

Yeah, it's going to be something. I've already got it written out into 4 parts (this being the first) and I intend on posting them once a week.

Sounds original. Subscribed!

Can we see a map of the world? Interesting that Japan seems to be a nonentity.
Japan did very little. By 1936, it's a German sphereling.

Sounds very interesting. Looking forward to the start.

1936-1956
By 1936, nearly the entire world was either conquered or sphered by a great power. This led to an odd sort of truce. No power was willing to risk war by extending into another power's domain. The great nations, having divided the world, now looked inward to maintain their position heading into the 40s.

The best example of this is China. Cut down by the UK, it never westernized. Interestingly, nearly every great power is friendly with China, but nobody can sphere the dragon. Likewise, nobody invades China, for fear of foreign intervention by multiple great powers.

However, the peace was deceptive, as the 40s brought great political upheaval in Europe. Italy, Spain, Denmark, Germany, Russia, and France all experienced multiple large scale communist revolutions. Soldier mutinies became common as nearly back to back rebellions plagued the monarchs of Europe.

1946 could be considered the high water mark of communist unrest. Rebels overran Northern Spain and French South Africa, besieged Paris, and assembled a force upwards of one million revolutionaries in Germany. However, all of these rebellions where put down, and soon the size of the subsequent rebellions diminished. (It's been rumored that chemical weapons were used against the rebels, although this is officially denied.) By 1956, only Krakow, Switzerland, and Santo Domingo had fallen to communism, and these states where annexed by Germany as part of its campaigns against the rebels.

As 1956 rolled around, it seemed that the communist threat had diminished. However, another crisis had become apparent. Technological development had stagnated, but population and the demand for resources continued to grow, leading to shortages and uncertainty about the future.

The World in 1956
Great powers
1. USA- Increased immigration led to greater development in the Americas.
2. United Kingdom- Despite attempts to bring greater industry to its African and Indian colonies, the United Kingdom began to feel the effects of stagnation.
3. Germany- German trade agreements around the world helped shield Germany from shortage. How long it can supply itself in the face of overpopulation remains to be seen.
4. France- Continuing to recover from the crash in 1915, France returns to the top four.
5. Russia- Like Britain, Russia tried extending industry to its colonies, but still faces the effects of stagnation.
6. Mexico- Mexico continues in its quest for a Marxist Utopia, ignoring the issues that face the rest of the world.
7. Brazil- Brazil finally taps into the flow of immigrants, swelling into a great power.
8. Ottoman Empire- The Ottomans hang on, but it may just be a matter of time until they are cast off into obscurity.

Goods
Grain: Supply-44733 Demand-72783
Radios: Supply-2141 Demand-4811
Aeroplanes: Supply-639 Demand-896

Population (Germany)
350 million

Subbed! Why not convert it to NWO?
The idea is to see how the vanilla world develops without major changes to the game. I'm sure NWO is a fine mod, but I want to take this AAR a different direction.

Nice to see such a good reaction! My writing has improved greatly since my last AARs, and while I won't spoil things, I've played out to the end and stuff happens in this AAR.:p

Thanks to Germany's conquests, it seems like Communism will only prosper in Mexico. Good for your stability.

It seems like China is either going to be the spark of a World War, some Great Power trying to conquer it, or will defy the odds and become a Great Power itself... which would probably lead to a World War. War seems certain in all regards, really. The demand for resources is going to make this start looking a lot like Fallout.

Could we perhaps get a picture or list of the spheres? I'm curious as to the extent of Mexico's Comintern.
The Comintern is limited, consisting merely of Mexico and the UPCA, both communist states.

Have any nations become Facist?
Moldavia became fascist by an event and is still an Ottoman satellite. Serbia is also fascist.
