When will some alpha or beta will come out?
Or do you want to release it in full glory as omega without any open beta or alpha?
Well he said the kingdoms are done but the graphics arent.

So you could technically play an all human alpha atm.

But all graphics need to be made, implemented and tested before a beta can be available.

Not to mention dynasties, events and the timeline.

Not to just Soon™ the Alpha and Beta releases, but here is the current plan:

Alpha: Once we are feature complete. PH names are still present, things need polish still but all of the core features are in. We'll privately invite a select group of people who are going to focus on "Is this fun?" rather than sweating about character names, realm colors, etc.

Beta: Once we've finished the Alpha pass, first pass of polish is done, so most placeholder names are replaced, core feature refinements from Alpha have been done, we'll open this up to the public for a more general. "Okay, how do you guys feel about this?"

1.0.0 Launch: After we've finished the second polish pass, and we feel that the mod is in a very good state, we'll do an official launch of the mod.

I know those aren't dates or anything but that's roughly the plan on a step-by-step basis. Trust me, once we're at one of those stages, you guys will be the first to know.

Out of curiosity have you seen the updated map from World of Warcraft - Chronicles I? It changes the position of Kul Tiras, Crestfall and Balor a wee bit.

Yes. The original map was made before Chronicle came out. It's not a massive difference but it is a difference. For now though, moving KT out there would require changing the map size, which would involve changing a bunch of the map files. For now I think it's fine where it is, and I'm more than willing to revisit the positioning if we manage to make a 2.0.0 that includes Kalimdor.

How the hell did Thrall miss that whole landmass while the whole horde sailed from Arathi to the Barrens?

Not to mention all the boats from Stormwind heading to Northrend during Wrath?

I'd imagine Chronicles II and III will retcon some aspects of that. We already know that the second book is going to rewrite sections of the First and Second War, so I'd imagine they'll bring up the fact that the Alliance already knew about the existence of the Broken Isles to some degree.

That's been retconned; as of the moment, only the Broken Shore was raised by Gul'dan. The rest of the Broken Isles have always been there.

So two night elf fleets (first Maiev chasing Illidan and then Tyranda and Malfurion coming to her rescue) completely missed the whole landmass of Suramar, containing the Nightwell and a quite substantial portion of their population and just went straight for that other small island literally within sight of the large landmass?

Not to mention that Maiev and the Naga fought there for so long that a runner could go all the way back to Ashenvale, tell Furion and then they went all the way back.

And no-one in Suramar cared to help either side during that time.

f-ing blizzard doing blizzard things.

It's a bit of an odd situation, isn't it?

As far as Suramar goes, up until Gul'dan arrived (and convinced them to sell out to the Legion), as far as they knew the rest of the world had perished in the Sundering. It's touched upon briefly during the quest line at the Moon Guard keep; the shal'dorei posed as long-lost kin to gain access to the keep, and once they'd entered the grounds proceeded to slaughter the defenders.

But aye, Blizzard are really, really inconsistent when it comes to the fluff. Like Alterac going from being the weakest nation in the Alliance to one of the strongest, having a standing army on par with Gilneas'.

Excited to see how this turns out, though.

after im done with the map the next major thing im going to be working on are race portraits like you are doing
What portraits tho?

Stromgarde will probably be more concerned with actually get it's own land back than trying to rebuild the empire.
I know this discussion is from over a month ago but thinking this would be ignoring the League of Arathor.

I'd also wish Me'dan away, but that's another discussion.
You and Blizzard both. I'd bet my ass that he will never be mentioned in any Chronicle book.

Regarding human-orc hybrids, are there actually any canon ones in all of WoW? Or any other Draenor/Azeroth cross-planet hybrids? The only mentions of them that I can think of are retconned Garona history and invalidated pen-and-paper RPG material. Because you could just disallow that and thus reduce a lot of that headache.

Its more hypothetical, if an orc takes over humans lands and subjugates those people then you could by game mechanics marry a human as an orc.

And the issue is what race would their children be?

On the topic of the map;
I finished placeholder faces and graphic paths for all the creep races (naga, trogg, murloc, gnoll and kobold) and also orcs, trolls and ogres.

Troll and naga base layer is done (both green and blue for troll) and just needs tusks, hair, clothes and face variatons to be done for trolls and.. uh, a lot for naga to be cool.

Couldn't you just disallow marriages between certain races? Or make them unable to have children? How does the Geheimnisnacht mod do it?
They made different religions and forbade all religions to marry heathens.

That doesnt stop rape or converts.

Oh and all non humans have -1000000% fertility, skaven breed with events, orcs adopt, vampires adopt, beastmen ... appear and so on and so on.
