Anyone who doesn't sign up for this game will be debuked by Wagonlitz at noon tomorrow, in the cafeteria, in front of everyone, with several videos being recorded on mobile phones and posted on the Internet for all to see.Well I think we all should focus that we only need one more player!!!
Look at the post above; you two aren't in the game, but still are knowledgeable Americans and hence might know how much reach this media has. Anyway I'm making the thread at the moment. It would appear that the media has tried to clean up their article after they were made aware by DR that it was downright lies what they wrote, although it's still wrong, but now it's more subtle with the message being the same (to me as a non native English speaker at least).
While I don't think there should be an issue, since there is still a fair amount of time, I will start the game with 16 people if we don't get another person by 14:30 EST tomorrow. I do want to get on with this while I still have time to do it properly.

Being an American, but not necessarily a knowledgeable one, I can safely say that I really was only marginally aware of the existence of such a publication as the Daily Wire. I'd argue that I'm at least slightly knowledgeable about of the hierarchy of relatively intellectually respectable conservative publications in the US (National Review... Weekly Standard... American Conservative... Reason... all of which deplored Trump at first, it should be noted) though I would hardly consider these publications to be part of my usual news analysis diet. My highly subjective take on the matter would be that your interpretation was correct -- the editors backed down... slightly. I would argue that they are grossly and misleadingly exaggerating more than utterly fabricating, though. The editors are pretty clearly more interested in attracting clicks from masses of angry xenophobes who just want to confirm their pre-existing conviction that immigration is destroying Europe than they are in serious journalism or analysis. To be clear, the story as they have it is basically the perfect confluence of everything that their target audience would like to believe to be true about the world. Their narrative goes something like this: Europeans generally and Scandinavians in particular are effete welfare-loving immigrant-hugging pansies, and the treasonous Democrats want to make the US just like Europe, but look! The silly Danes let in too many immigrants, and because immigrants = death/crime/poverty, naturally they now have to pass laws repressing their immigrants. See, you sanctimonious and degenerate Democrats? Even your precious socialist Scandinavians are cutting back on immigration! Anti-intellectualism is part of the whole point.
Curiously enough, the editor of the Daily Wire gave this interview shortly after the election to Vox, which I would've thought him to consider an atrocious elitist lefty rag.
