So since Eugen is making a new game, I thought people might be interested in knowing that their previous titles, the Wargame series, is on sale on Steam. You can pick up the quirky-but-pretty-fun European Escalation for only about $2.50 if you want something cheap to hold you over :) . It's not a perfect game, but it can get incredibly fun.

I think Escalation was the best of the three. More realistic no aircraft and some really great maps. (A bridge to far and Open Range were the Kings imo). Played that constantly till Airland Battle, went back and found it in the domain of Putinites who kick you if you defend Obama.

Downloading Red Dragon now. Will be fun to play as the Norwegians, and it looks intriguing overall :p . Will keep revisiting European Escalation, though, want to beat a few more of those SP campaign missions ;) .

Edit: the way I had it explained to me was that EE had the best singleplayer, while RD has the best multiplayer. Kinda want to play MP but I'm really intimidated, I hear there are lots of pro players on there :p .

That's pretty much correct. It wouldn't hurt to do the first campaign scenario in EE before jumping into multiplayer in RD. You'll get rocked either way, but at least you'll know how deployments and tanks and the like work.

Here is a very good guide to get you started in multiplayer.
