Every unit in WG had the sixth sense ability from world of tanks. Their icon stops flashing when they are spotted by the enemy, even if they can't spot whatever that's spotting them. This needs to go, people cannot magically tell if something can see them, otherwise security cameras wouldn't work.

Indeed, I thought this was stupid, basically free recon in the form of "spidey sense". You would know when an enemy recon team was creeping close by bacause your units placed in a hedge would stop flashing. Super lame.

It's actually fine the way it is. Units hear engine noise or trees moving, or notice the shutters on that house are open when they weren't before. There are many different types of cues that might be noticed that aren't reflected in the game.

Or their nose twitches or the hairs on the back of their necks stand up when a two man recon squad is silently observing them from a concealed position...

Oh that guy is just jumpy because he ate something that didn't agree with him.
Let's put it this way, if a unit should stop flashing when it senses something is observing then, they should also stop flashing at random because they are jumpy. Gut feeling are not radar and shouldn't be reliable.

Agreed, it was a thing since EE and was unrealistic. Usually if you get spotted in cover it was a result of an opponent playing well, and it is inhibited if the player notices are reacts to it because the UI tells you something is sneaking up on you. Have time to fall back and get some recon in the area of concern, making the game easier to stale mate. However in the same sense, it does reward players for keeping units in Cover. As you wont know if a unit in the open is spotted or not, so it's always better to keep to cover. Those Hedges in Normandy will have reasons for keeping or removing this game play mechanic.

It's something I never thought about, but I agree, stop the flashing.

My opinion, units in cover should always flash, whether they are spotted or not. You should be able to figure out when you are spotted based on incoming fire.

On the topic of hiding in cover, I think it would be neat if burned out or destroyed vegetation no longer provides the same cover as intact vegetation.

Well in RD I think if you napalm a forest hard enough the cover goes away temporarily, so it's probably in already
