They have already confirmed not even bridges can be blown.... not that most maps would even have them. That was another wish I had. It really seemed silly in WRD that in modern warfare bridges were made out of alien impregnable steel. Generally I do not agree with turning the game into ww1 but I do want infantry to have some effective cover and fox holes were generally dug all over the shop.

Oh and I wanted a realism mode that relied on sides that were not perfectly balanced where the stronger side had to achieve more than the weaker side. A scenario based game mode basically.

My big wishlist is:
No prototype/wildly anachronistic units - confirmed! Huzzah!
Co-op campaign - denied, sadly.
Story-based campaign, rather than dynamic - seems to be the case. Hopefully there'll be a variety of mission types throughout the campaign, not just skirmish map after skirmish map, devoid of context.
Non-persistent battlegroups - denied. I hope there's at least the ability to buy more units to replace losses. I don't want to lose a juicy rare tank early on and not have it for the rest of the campaign.

I think, that they have already confirmed, you can reenforce your units at certain moments in the campaign.

While we're at it -- simulated weather and time of day, and these things having an effect -- reduced visibility, snow and mud hindering movement, grounded aircraft, and so on.

The timeframe of the normandy campaign does not go till winter. ;) (Ends around 20th August or max till liberation of Paris 25th August)
Snow won't make it in the game for now, thought. At least, till they have a Ardennes dlc or such. :)

But a weather, that actuallly affects the battle would be pretty cool!

Oh, and the "Board nearest transport" command from World in Conflict. So useful.

Building on this -- inspired by my last game: a "pick up closest infantry" order for transports.

For example, I can have spec ops infantry in the mountains and send choppers to pick them up. By shift-clicking I can order them to Move, then Pick up Nearest infantry, then Return home, then Land. The whole evac sequence in one series of clicks, no need to check on them to see when they've arrived at their landing site to pickup the infantry section.

Edit: for that matter, it'd be even more useful when you have half a dozen transports going into an area to evac half a dozen infantry squads ;) .

I'd really like a matchmaker for Steel Division, so you don't get wildly unbalanced teams and don't get kicked out for less than optimal stats like you could in RD...

Okay, while I'm on a roll -- this is inspired by my last Red Dragon game:
  • A "Resupply" order, predominately for logistics vehicles: fast move to within range of nearest FOB; stay until resupplied or FOB empty; return to where you were. Would be highly useful for when you have logi vehicles travelling back and forth between the FOB and the frontlines.
  • An "RTB" order, predominately for helicopters: return to closest FOB, or some landing point designated by the player, and Land.
