Can anyone give me sure information? - games like CK2, EU4, HoI4 (and earlier) will work without problems on a computer with following parameters: i7-7700k, GeForce GTX 1070, Win7 64Bit.
Some of them are intended to the directx 9c...
I must buy new pc ;( ...and I fear they won't work fine.

Why shouldn't they? That's a very good machine.

Paradox games are pretty CPU intensive because of all the computations running in the background. Graphics power doesn't really matter

actually they sort of do, you just don't NEED a high-end GPU. though the bottom limit has greatly increased even since CK2 and since PDS started adding more VFX options ingame.

with hardware like that, your computer will be able to run PDS games for the next 15-20 years (no joke) without any issue... save for the age of Windows 7 by 2032 :p

That hardware is so far beyond the recommended specs that it can longer see them. In other words yes, I have a similar set up (except I use Win10) and they run fine.

Windows 7 is a bad decision. The kernel improvements to 8/8.1 make a difference in terms of performance. Not to mention the lack of updates to the older OS. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/13853/windows-lifecycle-fact-sheet

the problem with this arguement is that you referenced windows 8 AKA windows KYS :p :p :p :p as superior over anything more advanced than windows 95.

windows 10 though still a bit flawed, on the other hand is much better. though Win 7 will still be getting security updates for a while.

I have played EU4 without my GPU plugged in with no problems.

Even when Win 7 was still getting updates Win 8 was constantly a few FPS faster in most gaming benchmarks. Now 7 is in extended support the idea of sticking with it is a poor decision. 8.1 is an acceptable OS but for best security you need to be on the newest one offered.

A few FPS does not justify an entire change in OS, especially to an OS that's pretty much a dead end like Win8 because remember, he'd actually have to pay money to upgrade from 7 to 8 and 8's GUI sucks.

Besides there were people using Windows XP as late as 2014! In comparison, Win7 is perfectly reasonable.

And besides, aside from a few FPS, the choice of OS has minimal effects on game performance. Hardware is far more important.

don't win 8 and win 10 use the same default interface? the metro UI? i remember from windows 10 launch that most features were derived from win 7 and 8.

Windows 8.1 got rid of metro as default on desktops. The changes to the kernel are also important for system stability. The users staying on XP were idiots providing an easily hacked computer which was fodder for bot nets. 7 was an excellent os but you need to move on.

Also this is rapidly becoming a moot point. There is an increasing liklihood that MS will block old os on new systems soon.

well i'm definately in agreement concerning windows XP.

Win 7... i'll reserve judgement until January 14, 2020. microsoft's official death date for the win 7 lifecycle. THEN it most certainly will be time to move on and eat the $100 price tag to upgrade and cluster**** your computer for a month as is standard with going to a new OS. which is probably the reason why 90% of people don't upgrade. that's the case with my family at least.

yeah but that's on new stuff like AMDs upcoming Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 5 chips. if you're getting a custom computer with all-new components there really ISN'T a reason to be on an old OS. cuz let's face it, best buy isn't the fastest to move their stock to younger systems:p
