Monks and Mystics would also have come out on the 6th if they hadn't rushed it.

Oh noes!!
(Really I would like a little delay between the two releases so I could concentrate on a game at a time)

I'm more concerned that they're stretching resources available to get through the inevitable post release hotfixes. Otherwise I would think this is awesome.
Stelly & Eu4 have different dev. teams..

This.

Also the new hearthstone expansion comes out in early April. And maybe the MM balance patch comes out in April as well.
Total overload...

I'm not sure exactly how much the games' player-bases overlap, but it's at least some. It probably would have been better to hold off at least a week for one of the releases.

EDIT: This was my 666th post. I wish it had been in a Monks and Mystics thread.

I for one was disappointed that they've chosen to release on the same day ... I can only imagine it's someone in marketing depts bright idea rather than the dev teams, as it's not in any way a player friendly decision.

I will only be buying one of them on release, as I'll only really be able to devote enough time in one week to that game. Had they released a week or two apart I would have been tempted to pick both up, but as it is I'll get one on sale at a later point.

Silly Paradox... silly...

That's a strange way to look at it, imo. I mean, would you consider it more 'player friendly' if they arbitrarily withheld one DLC or the other just to avoid releasing them both on the same day?

From a marketing PoV they would almost certainly be better off to stagger the releases. Personally I'm pretty impressed that they haven't let that consideration result in the needless delay of a DLC that's ready to be put into my hands. This is evidence that the dev teams *are* in control rather than the marketing teams and I think that's great.

Count me as one of those fans whose interest overlap both EU 4 and Stellaris among other Paradox games. *stare at his awards and ribbons*.

I guess ultimately we're both just speculating here, but to me it seems like one or other is already being held back to release both on the same date. Given the development schedules are totally independent it seemed like a huge coincidence that they would both be ready for release on the same day.

So to clarify what I would like to say - If it was a conscious decision (rather than mere coincidence) to release both simultaneously, then I regard it as a poor decision.

Not necessarily: If Swedish culture is anything like Danish, then they want to be over it before the 5 day Easterweekend. Either 6th of April or 11th of May make sense due to the 1st May long weekend.
