1.-Republic of Perú

Right now the Republic of Perú is in their Guano Boom and is actually is one of the strongest powers in latin america economically , Castilla the president of the Perú has gone towards a more Americanist view of their sister nations and wishes to establish good relationships with them all , this could be ideal point for a new union to be born between countries and change history , for example a revival of the Perú-Bolivian Confederation would bring a lot of change to the international scene of latin america and even catch the eyes of the great powers in general.

2.-The Great Empire of the Qing

This is a great chance for a major change in history, because Qing China after the Taiping Rebellion will have a strong ruler , which in this case would be Cixi ruling behind the curtain, who could propel Qing China modernization and with time, seed the idea of a constitutional monarchy that could make the Qing China stronger internally while calming many of the voices of extreme reform seen IRL.

3.-United States of America

Because why not :V

1: Russian Empire. you know why. MWHAHAHAHAHAHA

2: United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. A good time to be the tea, a lot of interesting options and decisions to make while trying to keep #2 a far away #2. A fair & veteren hand at the helm of the largest ship typically helps out.

1. Kingdom of Spain - A fallen Great Power, Spain presents an interesting challenge, still possessing colonial territories but lacking any significant international influence. I'd like to try to turn the Spanish ship of state around.

2. Sublime State of Iran - With the Great Game between Russia and Great Britain at its height, Persia is at a troubled point in its long and illustrious history. I would like to take charge of this once-mighty nation as it navigates the dangerous world of 19th century geopolitics.

1 : The Kingdom of Greece : Greece, while not worth orders, would be fun for me to IC as. There are a dozen different national questions (such as the purity of the greek language and the deposition of Otto von Wittelsbach from the greek throne)and the continued slavery of much of modern day greece under Ottoman rule makes it interesting for diplomatic purposes and internal IC.

2 : The Kingdom of Spain : A former colonial superpower down on its knees, with the scramble for africa not a decade away. Will Spain build a new empire in Africa and Asia or will it fall into decline once more ? This would be a tier 3 nation.

3 : The Kingdom of the Netherlands : With the cultuurstelsel, colonial wars soon to be waged as the dutch scramble to compete for indonesia in the age of modern imperialism, from confessionalism, early industrialization to King Gorilla (Willem III), the Netherlands is a country in the move. IC nation, unless you deem it not to be so. Also, with Dutch being my native tongue and all, I can access information and do more indepth research for IC's.

1. Ottoman Empire (T2)

The Ottoman Empire is in a state of decline and is a far cry from its 17th-century dominance, but reforms and modernization since the earlier decades of the 19th century leave it in a state where something new could built, and a comeback could be made for the ailing empire. In addition, the Balkans would be an interesting and challenging region of the world to keep my grasp of power on, especially in the face of nationalism and Russian support, like what went down in the 1870's in our timeline.

2. Argentine Confederation (T3)

The Argentine Confederation is dealing with a civil war of their own in the form of the state of Buenos Aires aiming to centralize the country. In our timeline, the Argentine Confederation was defeated at Pavon in late 1861 and ceased to be shortly afterwards, having been reformed by the victorious rebels as the Argentine Republic.

3. Le France (T1)

France was greatly changed by the return of monarchy a decade ago. Therefore, rather contradictorily, the country manages to be both a blank slate and a deeply tradition-rooted country, one which would be fun to IC in and could also make a big splash on the future of Europe.

I. Kingdom of Hawaii

Hawaii in 1861 was seeing the twilight of Kamehameha IV's reign at a time when American and haole influence in the islands was rising exponentially. Assuming Kamehameha IV keeps his OTL appointment with the Grim Reaper I'll get to more-or-less start the game as the magnificent Kamehameha V. Historically Kamehameha V was something of a traditionalist, reviving native Hawaiian practices and introducing a more conservative constitution than that of 1852. I'm hoping to be able to continue Kamehameha IV's policy of tacit anti-Americanism whilst still progressing on the path of modernity.

II. French Empire

Yes, Ab is going for a GP. I'm as surprised as you are. In all seriousness I think it is time for me to try my hand at a Great Power and I would vastly prefer Napoleon III's France. His Imperial Majesty was kind of a fuckup, in the way that many monarchs during the Long Nineteenth Century sadly were, and my main goals would be ensuring the continuation of the regime as opposed to foreign adventurism. Not that there wouldn't be foreign adventures, of course! But I think that a judicious application of soft power will serve the Empire better in the long run.

III. Empire of Brazil

Pedro II is really a tragic figure as monarchs go, not because of his overthrow necessarily (although that was tragic of itself) but because -- despite both his nation and his reign being indisputable success stories -- he simply decided not to wage a fight to keep his throne. Given his immense popular support it isn't difficult to imagine that republican rebellion could eventually have been quashed, but history seems to point to the Emperor as simply being too tired of his crown. While of course I would like to change that, it's also worth nothing that Brazil during this period was unique on the South American continent. Reigned over by an Emperor instead of being ruled by yet another junta, Brazil enjoyed comparative prosperity and stability alongside her functioning democracy; and I think it would be highly enjoyable to attempt and make this golden age of Brazilian history last as long as possible.

IV. Puppet Monarchy

Somewhere, at some point, a puppet monarchy will be established during the course of the game. Probably in the Americas, but not necessarily. At any rate I would be perfectly happy to wait in the wings for whatever Frankenstein's monster of a nation is birthed, and assume control of whatever hapless bastard is handed the crown. Will it be Mexico? Maybe! Ecuador? Who knows! The possibilities are endless.

1. The French Empire
Given Bonapartism's proven record of ultimate success, I have no doubt that this will go perfectly.

2. The Tokugawa Shogunate
I'm going to try to make this marriage work, I swear.

3. The Hapsburg Empire
It's like riding a rolling dumpster that's on fire and also full of tigers.

No particular order:

Russia - because there is still a chance it will be successful.

Spain - because there isn't a chance it will be successful, and it will be fun picking up the pieces.

Qing - see Spain.

Transavaal or Orange Free State - because why not.

1. "Republic" of Paraguay. Who doesn't want to see an international pariah state shine in glory or fail in an attempt to destroy its neighbours, who are much larger than it? Pretty please.

2. Kingdom of Prussia. If I'm not going to play as a pariah, please let me beat up my own country with the Prussian army. Pretty please.

1. French Empire: I've always wondered what it would've been like if Napoleon III hadn't cast aside the Duc de Persigny. Louis-Napoleon's problem was his intense need to be loved by the Left and the Right, and the evolution from the more authoritarian early empire to attempts at parliamentary democracy will be a fun ride.

2. Habsburg Monarchy: Franz Joseph is both a triumphant and a tragic figure, a good embodiment of what the Habsburg Monarchy of the 19th century had become. Is the Ausgleich inevitable? Does Austria have a hope of solving the German Question in its favor? Can Franz Joseph hope to have a better relationship with Sisi? All are interesting What If's to ponder.

3. United Mexican States: President Benito Juárez has weathered the War of the Reform but now must deal with the problem of Mexican debts to Europe. A skilled politician, ideological Liberal, and popular with his people, nevertheless the odds are stacked against him; his Conservative opponents are still unbent and unbroken and desire a Second Mexican Empire to extinguish the fires of "radicalism." Can Juárez defend the Republic or turn this notion of an Imperial Mexico to his advantage?

Welcome to the Game. Congratulations. mark

You know the drill by now. Congratulations. mark

In no particular order:

I. Kingdom of Italy (Tier 2)
After centuries of foreign domination and political division, the Italian peninsula now stands (mostly) united, a young great power with much to prove. Italy has many exciting directions it could go in the years following 1861, from establishing a colonial empire, undergoing rapid industrialization and bringing Rome and Venice into the fold. I would have a blast playing and ICing as them, should I receive the privilege.

Argentine Confederation - Rolman99
Ottomans - KeldoniaSkylar
Mexico - Haresus
Greece - DutchGuy
Spain - stormbringer

Applications for IC-only nations now fully open.

IC-only nations have potential to become Tier 3 nations.

1) The United Kingdom of Sweden and Norway- An interesting nation that is stuck between the past and the present. With the guild system only recently being closed down and internal passports still being a requirement for transport, while at the same time railways are being built to link the country, and factories begin to appear, with the possibility of the exploitation of the vast amounts of high quality iron ore being an attractive and lucrative one.

[Approved for an ic nation on IRC]

Confirming as the IC player for the totally-stable Tokugawa Shogunate where everyone loves foreigners

I'd like to apply for IC-tier nation. Give me a chance to dip in my toes and such.

1. The Qing Empire
Not only is Qing one of the more fascinating Chinese dynasties, I feel that no WiR game is complete without one somewhere there on the fringes to throw massive salt filled edicts around in hopes of stopping all those mean westerners and Japanese from coming in to take their money and self-respect. Not only does the inclusion of the Qing along the Tokugawa add some depth to interactions occurring in Asia for the game, for me personally a chance to dig into those old records with the missus to write up some proclamations is an opportunity too good to pass.

So yeah, please give me an opportunity to read through bad old poetry with the missus. :)

2. The Taiping Heavenly Kingdom
Should the slot for Qing be taken, I'd love the opportunity to give said player some IC sass as everyones favourite younger brother of Jesus. This would probably not last very long and honestly be more interesting when IC'd by the same guy as the war goes on, but up to you really.

3. Orange Free State
Alternative, I can take over South Africa's smaller cousin and have some fun with diamonds.

For a couple of IC nations, I'll take any of these if you would:
1) The Kingdom of Hannover
One of the anti-Prussian northern states, it favours a united Germany but one that has a Grossdeutschland solution and strong federalism. Since IRL it butted heads with Prussia in the brothers war only a few turns in, it could be interseting to play.

2) The Kingdom of Bavaria
Mostly the same as above, but there is also the possibility for the formation of an SGF. Also, muh kultur.

3) The Kingdom of Denmark
