Werewolf Lite CCCXCIII: The Ten-Day' and Croatian Wars [PART 1]

After the Allied victory in World War II, Yugoslavia was set up as a federation of six republics, with borders drawn along ethnic and historical lines: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia. In addition, two autonomous provinces were established within Serbia: Vojvodina and Kosovo. Each of the republics had its own branch of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia party and a ruling elite, and any tensions were solved on the federal level. The Yugoslav model of state organization, as well as a "middle way" between planned and liberal economy, had been a relative success, and the country experienced a period of strong economic growth and relative political stability up to the 1980s, under the rule of president-for-life Josip Broz Tito.
After his death in 1980, the weakened system of federal government was left unable to cope with rising economic and political challenges. During 1990, the communists lost power to separatist parties in the first multi-party elections held across the country. Nationalist rhetoric on all sides became increasingly heated. In 1991, one republic after another proclaimed independence. After a string of inter-ethnic incidents, the Yugoslav Wars ensued.
THE SET-UP:
There will be 17 players, no more, no less. Roles will be handed out after #17 signs up.
The game will then proceed to Night 0 (after I have handed you your roles).
THE ROLES:
1x Foreign diplomat (Seer): Sent to SFR Yugoslavia to help the secessionist republics to achieve independence and stop the bloodshed. Can scan one player each night to see whether he is a Slovene, Croat or Serb.
4x Serbs (Werewolves): The Serbs, with the help of the Yugoslav People's Army, will in first hand try to keep the borders of Yugoslavia intact, and if that fails try to establish their own Serb-dominated secessionist regions in the rebellious republics.
12x Slovenes and Croats (Villagers): People who no longer want to live in a Serb-ruled Yugoslavia. Will the Slovenian territorial defense be able to repulse the Yugoslavian army intervention and get international recognition? In the pending Operation Storm, and Serb rebellions, will the Croatian army be able to liberate their beloved country?
ROLEPLAY:
The players are encouraged to choose appropriate characters to play as, and to roleplay if they like. However, if a player does not choose a character, one will be selected for them if needed.
DEADLINE:
Deadlines for votes are given by 20:00 GMT. (PLEASE CONVERT THIS TO YOUR OWN TIME ZONE IMMEDIATELY TO AVOID FUTURE CONFUSION). A vote at 19:59 will count, whereas a vote at 20:00 will not.
Game starts with a nocturnal deadline.
HOW TO WIN:
The Slovenes, Croats and the Foreign Diplomat win if they defeat the Serb rebellions and the Yugoslav People's Army. The Serbs win if they achieve parity with the secessionists.
