Hello everyone, we went through the whole feedback provided and we decided to change the tournament setup to accommodate more to what the community is more used to. The Bo2 format will be kept for another events, due to its way to appeal to game mechanics and the long fights for map control (expect to see it in month long Round Robin Tournaments).
I will list the changes here and also will update the main post on this topic with the rule set.
Format:
- Single Elimination - 1v1 - Conquest
- From beginning to Round of 4 (Semifinals): Best of one (Bo1)
- Finals and 3rd/4th place match: Best of Three (Bo3)
Factions and Battlegroups:
- The highest seeded player decides which faction he will play with (Allies or Axis). Seeds are randomly assigned during tournament setup
- In Bo1 - Players are allowed to change Battlegroups between rounds
- In Bo3 - Players have to remain with the same battlegroup, but they can edit its composition between games
Maps:
- Bo1 - The lowest seeded player picks the map
- Bo3 - The lowest seeded player picks the first map, the following are picked by the loser of the previous game.
Practical example:
You played the Ro32 as Allies (101st), and due to the other's player choice you will play allies again in the Ro16 - You can change your battlegroup to 3rd Armored (Change between Series)
In the Finals or 3rd/4th place match you started as 101st, you will have to play the whole series with 101st, but if you think you can use a different tank or Artillery piece in your battlegroup, you can edit it between games 1 and 2 of the series (and between games 2 and 3 if needed).
Note on the seed: If your seed is 8 and your opponent is 3. You are the 8th, he is the 3rd, his seed is better than yours.
