What purpose does Bisclauraifism serve? Is this anger for its own sake? Maybe it's blind rage. There is always the possibility that these form-changing types are merely mediators between our world and a different one. Maybe they're even harmless. Times come when it's difficult to see who're real beasts. But such reassurances aren't enough to stop the villager from butchering Wagonlitz in the hope that longer term slaughter might end.
At times, it's almost as if shapeshifting is a symbol for something. But for what? Too much sensing Too much feeling? Inability to explain? One villager would be vexed no longer by all of the puzzling imagery. Nor anything else.
