Wait, so it is possible to join PDS if I have experience in modding your games and programming, isn't it? And what are age limits

I'd guess legal working age limit in Sweden most likely.

There are plenty of staff from various countries and of many different ages.
Check out the job applications, some might have relocation packages or be outsourcing.

We have plenty of people coming from different countries. I think the HoI 4 teams hails from 8 different countries (although almost everyone works in Stockholm). We have recently become more open about having people work remotely, too.
 
Is it possible to communicate with someone from PDS? For I am working on my own game right now and I really need to get some advice from someone experienced...

I always dreamt of working in the gaming industry, but went into consulting instead due to living in Belgium, which has a very limited game market.
The gaming industry is a harsh business to be in, but I'd love to do it anyway.
Though I've always wondered what kind of net wages a person could make at Paradox.

You won't find anyone discussing this on an open forum. Suffice to say that few people go into the game industry to get rich, and even fewer succeed in getting rich.

Yeah I figured as much :) I wasn't asking, but I am curious.
Many people seem to be secretive or contractually forbidden to talk about their wages.
I'd never join the gaming industry in order to get rich, but for the experience.
Though, I do value freedom, so might start programming again once I am financially independent.
Either way, I admire what you all do, and will continue to support Paradox and its employeers/fanbase, best game company out there :D
 
Depends entirely on your role and experience.
Makes sense of course, but it's hard for me to fit into a single role. I don't have excessive experience in one field, but I tend to do several things pretty well.
Does Paradox allow multi-role jobs or is it all very focused? From what I saw in the job descriptions it's usually pretty focused.

Consulting fits me because most other kinds of jobs don't allow switching fields of interest, since it would be a loss of investment in experience.
I like to do multiple things at once, so I feel more and more that game development in a big company is not for me.
I'd rather create a small game with only a few people, so I can switch between roles every once in a while.

Given the vagueness of your recollection I can only assume you lost those games more than you won them.

Maybe he created an intelligent drinking AI which can outsmart a human, in which case he might be on to something ;)

Your skills in the role you are hired for is obviously going to be most important, but if you have other skills that are relevant to the job it's a big plus. A skilled content designer with UI and art experience will be more useful to us than an equally skilled content designer who lacks UI and art skills. It doesn't mean they will do UI and Art on a regular basis, but they'll be able to apply those skills in their content design work, and they'll be able to help out with tasks when needed.

So, yes, we have plenty of room for people who are very good at several skills.

I'm glad to hear that, I might actually reconsider applying for a job then! It'll be at least a few years though due to reasons.
