While the burghers of Odder wanted a line to Hovedgård the burghers of Århus and Horsens quickly agrred on getting a through line between Århus and Tvingstrup, which would allow them to capture the trade from Hads and Ning Shires. The burghers of Horsens were more worried about recapturing the trade of Bjerre Shire though which it had lost to the burghers of Vejle after the Fredericia Århus Railway had opened in 1868. They were planning on a railway through Bjerre Herred to a port there where the Horsens Kalundborg ferry line would be rerouted to so as to once more reaffirm Bjerre Shire as Horsens property and prevent it from being stolen by Vejle burghers again.
Broge really wanted a line to Århus, so as to not risk losing his trade to Esbjerg, so he made a stock competition to see which line had the most support. When it ended in December 1875 200 000 crowns had been invested in stocks for the Århus Odder line whereas the Odder Hovedgård only had 70 000 crowns backing it. Hence in 1876 loads was done to get the line made, but by 1877 the project had stranded due to a government policy change.

The good thing is that we know, that all 3 wagons were villagers. There's only one wagon left, which could be caused by alibi votes: Jeray.
My thoughts right now aren't consistent, so I'll return in the morning and make a bigger post.
