Both the Sunset Invasion and the end game crisis of Stellaris are fairly interesting gameplay wise.

Let's be blunt : both EUIV and HOI IV might soon reach the limits for possible expansions .

In EU IV, I would say that in two three years we will be down to Antarctica as new maps areas and HOI IV might make a couple of expansions about Wunderwaffen (the AI build useless weapons that are futuristic and costing ressources they don't have instead of building more basic useless weapons with ressources they don't have) or customs trees that make it harder to play powerhouse like Luxembourg, Belgium, Ethiopia or Albania

Would this be that bad to make a crossover-like with Stellaris, an outside the box problem ?(

HOI IV : the faction that is losing is given support by aliens who built an observatory post. Or they straight out invade, and even the mightiest player feels like the Thunderchild charging a tripod...

EU IV: Zombies (nuff said)

You want an 'end-game crisis' for a game about WWII? Perhaps the greatest crisis in human history?

Those were highly sarcastical examples. But honestly, I would like end games crisis Stellaris style for EU IV and HOI IV.

If you are seriously proposing something that you would honestly like to see implemented into the games, it might be helpful if you gave actual, sincere examples of what kind of thing you have in mind. Nobody is going to take "add aliens to HOI IV and zombies to EU IV" seriously, and when we see those given as your examples, I think most people would be inclined to dismiss the entire thread as just a joke.

You do realize that HoI IV is just over a year old right?

They have Commonwealth expansion, they have ''minors sandwiched in Central Europe'', they have China expansion. What's left ?

(South America militaries ? Actually possible. Scandinavian militaries ? Possible but very limited beyond Sweden and Norway)

If we are talking about end-game crisis...well, the only realistic thing for HoI4 that I could think of was escalating nuclear war (i.e. other powers start using nukes too, and frequently) and mass devastation with the early low-yield nuclear bombs.

But even that will be weird with current game mechanisms.

Well just for starters, all the majors except Germany are crying out to have their focus trees re-done. The Spanish Civil War, and Civil Wars generally, need a major rework. Naval combat is widely acknowledge to be massively unloved and in need of some changes. Etc etc...

That would be an example (nuclear winter)

But then again, ''OMG, Aliens'' or ''Nazis helped by Aliens'', while ridiculous, would be an out of context problem to spice up the end game. That's the point of the thread. Genuinely asking people if they want realist DLCs or funky DLCs (I'm perfectly honest there, while I find historical DLCs interesting, I still think Sunset Invasion was the best DLC I bought for CKII, EU IV and HOI IV)

I don't mind Ahistorical DLC...What I mind is DLC that might as well not be tied to the realm of reality that we call home to

Nonsense! I want the world invaded by Nazi Cthulu!

Benelux? The whole Muslim world? What is left of the Balkans? Baltic countries? Most of America? Not even mentioning the great powers.

If they ever run out of content, they could always start working on post war content. Like expanded tech trees, and focus trees that unlocks later.
