Well assuming a full load is equal to 50,000 kg.. given it looks like they used this as the design:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BFR_(rocket)
And using this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsiolkovsky_rocket_equation and the fact that both rockets have to have the same delta V to return to Earth, the mass ratios would work out this way:
( Mo - X ) / Mf = Mo / ( Mf + 50000 )
And using the BFR numbers for Mf = 85000 kg and Mo = 85000 + 50000 + 240000 + 860000 = 1235000
(1235000 - X) / 85000 = 1235000 / (85000 + 50000)
X = 457,407 kg less fuel and oxidizer, umm what this game calls fuel. But that's only for an empty rocket going back, every unit of rare metal would require an additional 15,000 kg more fuel.
Now how much mass is the fuel per unit...
Assuming 60 fuel is the baseline BFR, 1,100,000 / 60 = 18,333 kg
So a good fuel requirement would be 1 fuel per unit rare metal.
PS.
Hah, that's true.... Once the features are polished, I would welcome a 'hard mode' with things like this taken into consideration. Otherwrise, mods. It could be kept simple and just add 1 fuel for every 1 cargo, or something like that.
Did the maths, guess what it works out to.
