Born into a poor family in County Cork during a period of famine, Michel always dreamed of something more than a simple farming life. However, for an Irishman of his economic class, there was only one path to that goal: joining the Royal Army, which he did at age 18. He worked his way up through the ranks, but hit the glass ceiling as a low-level NCO at a relatively young age. England, France, it mattered not; Paris did not care for Ireland, and that was what mattered to him. He joined the Irish Rising of '73 and fought bravely, but had to slip into the shadows when that revolution was defeated. He spent the next decade working for his cause in secret, organizing fellow poor Irishmen, educating them in republican ideology and helping with unionization. He even helped support his cause by acting as a gentleman thief, robbing rich Englishmen and Frenchmen and giving the funds to his fellow peasants.
1886 came, and Michel seized the moment. He rallied his followers and comrades to the cause of the Second Irish Republic, fighting for nationalism, democracy, and socialism. After scoring several decisive victories against the Royal Army, Michel rose in prominence and is now one of the chief commanders of the Irish revolutionaries. If Michel has anything to say about it, government of the people, by the people and for the people shall not perish from the earth!
