Question, is the main language of Ireland TTL English or French (alongside Gaelic?)
Language I can't tell, but the demographics is mostly Irish, with on the east coast (Belfast and Dublin mostly) some Anglois minorities. So I expect that the island is Gaelic speaking with the east coast cities upper/middle class being French speaking

Anglois is mostly French with some English turns on it so in Ireland it would be French not English the language of the administration and upper classes. Although the canon has never really been clear on Anglois but that is the most likely.

I would advise anyone interested in making an Irish character be aware that with the way the vote is going, Ireland will likely be super independent and won't be part of the game for much longer.

There are certainly Irish enclaves in London and Paris, however, just keep in mind that characters in Ireland proper will have extremely limited time.

To clarify, because it seems that some are confused by the whole " character " thing : Where do we post our characters ? On the forum thread or the discord server ?

Albert Boisier

Date of Birth: 1856
Nationality: French
Career: Teacher
Ideology: Socialist before the Civil War, became Communist in 1886.
Party/Faction: Parti Travailliste Français/Les Communards
Biography:

Born in Tours, Albert Boisier was an only child, his mother died 2 years after his birth. Albert was raised by a father who had a passion for philosophy. Since then, Albert developed an interest towards philosophy and the working conditions of the working class.

He had a simple life during childhood, his father had some financial struggles and had to make some sacrifices but did everything to be sure his only child would be well educated.

Aged 21, Albert Boisier left Tours for Paris and became a teacher for a primary school. At the same time, Albert Boisier became increasingly invested in politics.

In 1879, Albert Boisier joined the Parti Travailliste Français.

While not part of the popular figures of the Parti Travailliste Français, Albert Boisier is known inside the party for his more radical ideas than what the PTF advocates, some even think he may leave the party to create his own faction.

A politcal theorist, the revolution has been a real source of inspiration for Boisier, this new experience made him a changed man.

The English Parliament and the English National Army.

My character bio:
Name: John ‘Jack’ Chester
Date of Birth: 1856
Nationality: English
Career: Member of Parliament/Lawyer
Ideology: Liberal (Leaning towards Socialist)
Party/Faction: Independent Liberal Party/English Parliament

Biography:
Jack’s father Alfred made a name for himself defending former English revolutionaries from excessive persecution, establishing a successful legal practice in York. A voracious reader and dedicated student, Jack qualified as a lawyer before his 21st birthday. Whilst initially taking mundane cases at his father’s practice, he soon became interested in employment and workplace law, fighting a number of cases in defence of workers maimed or dismissed in the horrific conditions of the industrial towns of Yorkshire.

In early 1885, the Independent Liberal Party, seeking to boost their appeal with the working classes, tapped Jack to stand in a local by-election, which he won with a large majority. Although an MP for the ILP, Jack has a strong (some would say paternalistic) sense of social justice and is definitely on the Social Reformist wing, something which is viewed with suspicion by the more right-leaning MPs in the party.

Jack fully supports the supremacy of the English Parliament but has stopped short of calling for full independence at this time.

Name: Michel O'Brien
Date of Birth: December 5th, 1848
Place of Birth: Cork, Ireland
Nationality: Irish
Career: Soldier
Office: General in the Army of the Irish Republic
Ideology: Socialist
Party: Irish Confederalists

Born into a poor family in County Cork during a period of famine, Michel always dreamed of something more than a simple farming life. However, for an Irishman of his economic class, there was only one path to that goal: joining the Royal Army, which he did at age 18. He worked his way up through the ranks, but hit the glass ceiling as a low-level NCO at a relatively young age. England, France, it mattered not; Paris did not care for Ireland, and that was what mattered to him. He joined the Irish Rising of '73 and fought bravely, but had to slip into the shadows when that revolution was defeated. He spent the next decade working for his cause in secret, organizing fellow poor Irishmen, educating them in republican ideology and helping with unionization. He even helped support his cause by acting as a gentleman thief, robbing rich Englishmen and Frenchmen and giving the funds to his fellow peasants.

1886 came, and Michel seized the moment. He rallied his followers and comrades to the cause of the Second Irish Republic, fighting for nationalism, democracy, and socialism. After scoring several decisive victories against the Royal Army, Michel rose in prominence and is now one of the chief commanders of the Irish revolutionaries. If Michel has anything to say about it, government of the people, by the people and for the people shall not perish from the earth!
