@Dizzy_XC - @don Zappo has the right of it. I only left that file as a way for people to manually swap out the MDD.db, if they are using an older version of ModTek, or prefer to do it that way (though they will then need to change the mod.json files in all the sub folders to the '-NoCampaign' versions.

ModTek will comb through all sub-folders in the Mods folder and any that have appropriately coded mod.json files will be added to the MetadataDatabase.db file that it creates. This is created and stored in the Mods folder, and if you swap out mods, you may want to delete it and allow ModTek to work its magic on the leftover mods.

NOTE - If you downloaded the mod before 06/12 at 08:00AM Eastern Time the below applies.

The empty 'movement' folder in the JK_VariantsSkirmish folder did not get added to the compressed file.

This doesn't cause any real problems, but the mod.json file there calls it, so it throws up a flag in the error log. But there is nothing in the mod that calls for anything in that folder, it was intended as a place holder only.

You can either add an empty "Movement" folder in BATTLETECH/Mods/JK_VariantsSkirmish

OR you can remove the line by opening mod.json (and the -No/Yes Campaign files) and delete ", { "Type": "MovementCapabilitiesDef", "Path": "movement\\", "AddToDB": false }" - make sure to delete the comma before the {'Type'....

I have also included the 'fixed' mod files in the attached zip.

Sadly I didn't identify the issue, someone on Nexus did. So I remain 'out' of the pilot mod ;)
 
Hey JK. This may be a known issue... but I didn't see it yet. Anyway.. running Banshee 3S. In the right torso, there are more items there than slots. If I try and replace the PPC there with a PPC+++ for instance, I cannot do it once the old PPC is removed because of not enough slots. I might have missed this in the readme or the thread here. Any work around?


Also, where do I pick up Modtek?

Yes, that is an issue of TT v. BATTLETECH Video Game ;)

You can move the 2 extra heat sinks in the RT to the LT instead.

To be honest, I likely should just do that to avoid any confusion for people.

Any idea when you'll have the GenTek version available? I am looking at his mod right now for inclusion. It just wouldn't be the same without your variants folded into the system!

JK, I've been trying to get the SL tech (ER & Pulse) weapons to "show" up in the shop. However, I've not been successful at all. I found a SL weapons mod via a YouTuber's vid. This is on Nexusmods.com. However, I am unable to use them because I do not use Steam to play, I use GoG Galaxy. I've placed the weapons in the proper shop/shop_Mech_RestorCoromordir.json (and for each realm), I went to the weapons themselves changed the statement for available to true. And I even lowered the rarity level to 1. However, unlike my Gauss Rifle, Gauss Ammo, and DHS (which showed up perfectly) the ER/Pulse weapons do not. Is there something somewhere actually preventing them from being shown?

FYI this is my path: C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\BATTLETECH\BattleTech_Data\StreamingAssets\data. I don't have a mod file as I saw for the SL weapons mod or anything like you list above. I'm a bit flummoxed over this. So any help you can give me I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Which mod did you try from Nexus? The LosTech in stores one should work to have everything show up and give you a good idea of what needs to be changed to make it happen.

It has some issues with rarity, but it should make the lostech show up abundantly in all black market and starleague stores.

I actually overlooked the mod you linked to. I may convert to use in my mod pack and then it would be ModTek compatible as well!

Okay, I looked at the mod you showed me last night this morning. I found out why the SL weapons wouldn't show up. They have to be put into this json file: shopdef_Weapons_base_0. When you do, they show up everyone. You don't have to do anything else to the weapons other than change the availability statement from false to true. The reason, I surmised, has to do with the tag at the end of the SL weapons: Weapon_Laser_MediumLaserPulse_0-STOCK. That's all it took. Hopefully, this will help everyone out. You no longer have to make changes to the VersionManifest.csv file.

Edit: The ER med/small, small & med pulse, and ER PPC are showing up. The ER large & large pulse don't. Likewise, the ER PPC doesn't seem to have any animation for it when you fire. It fires, does its damage; however, you don't see anything showing it firing.

Edit #2: DOH! I didn't add the ERL or LPL to the list. That's why they didn't show up. And I verified that the ER PPC animation didn't show up because I didn't have the correct 'weapons effect code.' Fixed it. My apologies, I'm a few years out (like 20) from my coding days. Man...I'm old.

For the immediate future (at least 48 hours), fairly safe to presume that quite a few mods aren't working.

I'm keeping a running tally on the modding sub-Reddit on which mods are/aren't working, but it's slow-going.

Notifications along the lines of: 'Okay, this one works, no wait it actually doesn't, re-building' are quite frequent on the Discord.
