A little update: the map might as well be done. All that is done for it's physical component is to do some adjustments for Blackrock Mountain.

So have some pictures:

So what plans do you have for some of the features of Holy Fury?
We'll need to wait before answering this, since it depends a lot on how moddable they are.

Are you guys going to add worgen mechanics? Or will Gilneas just be human/worgan all the time?
Worgen mechanics will go on top of the base race's (either human or night elf) mechanics, with a few maybe disabled. Feral worgen will be somewhat different.

Do you guys know how many provinces the mod will have upon release, and how smooth it runs compared to vanilla?
666 provinces (counting oceans and lakes) for the EK. It runs very nicely. One thing to keep in mind is that this number will increase. I expect it will double once Kalimdor is in, and will grow from there as other landmasses are included.

I hope you manage to develop a script to update positions.txt for that, because otherwise...

*pictures amount of work of incrementing each X position in the file by a certain amount*

*cries in despair*

There is a nudge tool in-game which can be enabled in Settings.txt. This tool can be used to fix the positions of cities, armies and names for each county directly on the map and it automatically updates the positions.txt each time you use it. So it's not nearly as times consuming as it might seem and honestly it's my favorite part of CK2 map modding.

Im not trying to rush yall or sound ungrateful of your hard work. Whats the chance of the demo before end of the year
To calculate the chance (probability) of something happening you need to integrate the spread function of the outcomes of said thing happening.
If you asume the probability is Normal distributed between the point 0 of work starting and going on until eternity where the probability of work being done is 0 at the time 0 and 1 at eternity the highest probability lies in the bell of the curve where the most outcomes will be.

The work will be done somewhere between work starting and eternity, with a higher probability the further from each extreme it is.

Edit: I am very helpful.

Okay Smartass, do you want a trophy now?
Yes please.

I can make you one once you discover the ever elusive subject of humor!

It will be made of macaroni and glue.

I wanted to say how much I'm grateful for you guys sticking to the project for this long and not letting our hopes down. The work that's been done so far is absolutely stunning, and I hope we'll see this mod succeed as much as a Game of Thrones, Elder Kings or a Middle Earth project have.

There's one thing I wanted to ask about, that is the size of mountains in the current map. I remember you saying:
you may also have noticed that the terrain doesn't exactly match the map seen in World of Warcraft. The reason is because the WoW map is filled with hard transitions between biomes, and mountains are absolutely everywhere. While perfectly acceptable for a game, especially one where space needs to be compressed to make travel not be a chore, it would look very strange seen from the perspective of CK2. Thus we opted for a more organic, natural feeling to the map.

And this is felt most in the south of the continent:

And in the latest pictures you've given us, the map is given a look way more akin to what we see in WoW, with mountains everywhere. What made you choose this over the 'organic and natural feeling to the map'?
In my opinion, the map looked somewhat better in the previous version. The scaled-down mountain ranges gave the illusion that the continent is massive, with realms spanning giant valleys and highlands.
The new map, while looking very sweet, makes me feel a bit claustrophobic inside a zone, with mountains pressing down on me. This is supported by the overwhelming amount of barriers put on those mountains, that further scale down the areas.
The feeling of Azeroth looking huge is what made me favour this mod over Guardians of Azeroth, where (despite having 3 continents) the map looked smaller than yours does.

I know this is a thing that'd most work when posted a few months ago before you have completed the map the way it looks now, but unfortunately we've been given no images of the map to point this out.
I am still excited for this mod very much and what I've just posted won't stop me from playing it. Thanks for your work!

It's a bunch of factors. We made a decision to have it be closer to how Blizzard did it, with "screw it, it's fantasy and doesn't have to make perfect sense. Also Sundering explains quite a bit of the geography.

As for the blockers, I've toned them down and may do so again. Right now the only blocker-heavy area is Khaz Modan to make movement there difficult.

Thanks for the feedback, though.
