I have already sent PMs to ~15 persons yesterday, of which 3 joined the game since, one declined, and the others didn't answer (I'll send another message on the conversations tonight).

However, it is mostly a list of people that played back when I was still very active. So a lot of those accounts are abandoned now. Still, you might end up bringing back some old hands which is always nice.

Some of the people on the list tend to exclusively or almost exclusively play bigs (ie Tamius, Sleepyhead, Johho).

Don't feel weird about inviting people by PM. Say something like Hi @Audren , my name is Yvanoff, and rumor has it you used to play Werewolf on the Paradox Forums. I'm hosting a my very first WW Lite game and I would be super honored if you were to join. (Link)

If you invite Ramius, say "The village needs its idiot". It's not as mean as it sounds.

Alternatively, you can beg Jeray to be a full in. Say "You can be Seer, Jeray'*"

Since it is the last few weeks of the semester, I can be a sub, if need be.
 
Seeing as we're only one player short, do you think I should start the game tonight (in 2 and a half hour) regardless of the number of players ? Or is the mere idea of hosting a Lite with 16 players heretical thoughts here ?

(Hopefully someone will join in and make this a moot point, but just in case...)
 
Starting with 16 players has been done many times. It's equivalent to starting with no night 0 hunt. To be fair you then roll a dice to show which player on the roster the seer scanned (obviously excluding himself). You need to include the hunted player 17 in the roll too to account for the possibility of the scan being hunted.
I.e. you essentially roll a 16 sided dice and has all signup numbers above seer be number-1 and all below seer just be number.

True, forgot that.

So yeah, first you are to roll a D13 to see who got hunted. 1/13 chance it's the seer and 12/13 chance it isn't. If it isn't then you're to roll a d16 and if it's 16 then it's the hunt and hence no scan, if it's 15 or lower then the person with the corresponding signup number is the scan, using number-1 for players above the seer and number for players below the seer.
