    • The game is reset !​

    I apologize to all of you. Due to me panicking in the face of something I had not anticipated, I ended up making a mistake I shouldn't have done. A small mistake but it may influence the game, and after consulting the wisdom of older GMs I have taken the decision to reset the game since we are only day 1.

    Please ignore the first role PM you have received. You will soon receive a new role PM with your actual role.
    Please ignore every posts between the end of the sign up and this one and pretend that it never happened.

    I am deeply sorry for the mess and will do my utmost to not let myself be in such a situation again. You all can sit in circle, point at the GM and laugh at his incompetence.

    • OK, so since I have been spamming all of you with tons of PMs, I think I owe you an explanation. What happened was stupid, really.

    First, since I wanted to get the game started quickly, I figured 24 hours would be enough for Day 1. (Nothing interesting ever happens Day 1 !). So I thought I would put the deadline today.

    I then prepared the "Night 0" update, then proceeded to send role PMs. Except that when I arrived to Graf... I couldn't send her her role PM ! Turns out she was banned for a couple days (the problem is fixed), but be it because it is indicated nowhere or I simply missed it, I didn't understand that. So I started thinking, "what should I do ?" and decided that the best course of action was to proceed normally.

    Except, well, I decided to push the deadline back 24 hours because even though Graf was merely a villager it didn't feel right to start the game with a player not knowing her role. But it was the first thing that scared me, because I figured this deadline move could feed speculations I did not want to take place.

    Then, and it is where I actually dug my grave, I decided to contact Graf. Since I did not know she was banned, I figured the reasons why I couldn't send her a PM were either a setting she had set, or her inbox being full (I have heard about GMs telling players to clear their inboxes, but I don't know what actually happens when you try to send a PM to someone with a full inbox). I contacted her via the invitation I had sent her previously.

    Except... In this conversation I had invited all players who played in my previous Lite, or tried to play, and that included CaesarCzech (also a villager). So CasearCzech now knew that the deadline was pushed back because Graf didn't get her role !

    To put it simply, I panicked, and when one panics, he usually screws up. Sadly here this was a usual case.


    So:

    New role PMs will be sent shortly. Please disregard older role PMs.

    How to know which one is the old role PM and which one is correct ?

    That's very simple: if I'm still in the conversation = correct role PM. If I'm no longer in the conversation = old role PM, please disregard.

    The room locking up confuses you and scares you. What could it possibly be ? Is the group of 4 sneaky Gungeoneers actually here ? Is it simply a mistake on the Gungeon's part ? Mistakes are rare here, but they can happen.

    But the "night" falls. The 17 of you decide that against the stress, sleeping is the best remedy. You will figure out what happened in the morning, you think. The perspective of being locked up in a room with evil Gungeoneers among you is frightening, but the idea of being locked up possibly forever in one for the room isn't much better.

    You all sleep very badly. You all make the same dream, a weird one, where you wake up to find EmpereurGermanic brutally murdered in the morning. The room then fade, and you see a twisted and evil being (likely the Gungeon's master) screaming seemingly in pain about his own incompetence and the need to do things anew, switching back and forth between the common tongue and a strange language you do not speak, but which sounds like the language of pure Evil.

    You all wake up sweaty and do not feel well rested. And upon waking up, you wonder what could this dream possibly be about.

    Because in the corner of a room, you can see EmpereurGermanic. Or more accurately, what is left of him after his horrible death - all of his powder has been burnt.

    That was in the old forum. In the new forum there no longer is any PM box limits and hence you can send as many as you want.

    And yeah, there really ought to be a way to make it show that somebody is banned given how it prevents them from being PMed. Though that PM prevention is silly.

    His name was just the name that random generator spit out for me. Since I'm a villager and the "zombie" was destined to be a villager, randomly picking someone will give you a chance of 26.67% (4/15) of finding a wolf.

    I did consider the chance that Tus was a wolf before the reroll and it would be highly unlikely he would be rolled as a wolf twice in a row, but my gut feeling tells me to stick to my guns (no pun intended). I also considered that the real wolves might try to spin it against me if I were to vote someone else, claiming that Tus and I were packmates (as if I were protecting him or something). I don't want to give the wolves any more ammunition (what's with all these gun/weapon idioms in English???) to get me hanged.

    Well, when I tried to send a PM to Graf earlier, the option just.... Wasn't there. The menu was the same, except the "Start a conversation" option was simply gone. Vanished into the emptiness lying beyond the Banhammer

    Also, as a bit of trivia, this is my 2nd time I GM a Lite and the second time I reroll the roles :D (first time - Lite CDXIX - was justified though, I had rolled the roles for 16 players when a 17th player joined at the last minute so I rerolled to give that player a chance to not be a villager. Also since I had not yet sent roles PMs it had not been such a mess and players were simply ignorant that a reroll had taken place)
