BIG NEWS ALERT
We're INCREDIBLY excited to announce to you that we're opening a brand new studio! We welcome Paradox Tectonic led by industry veteran Rod Humble, a newborn studio ready to bring that Paradox flair from Berkeley, California!

Learn more in today's special episode of the Paradox Podcast:

What this new studio will bring you will have to wait and see a little longer however you can get a taste from Rod's own words from today's press release:
“Our aim with Paradox Tectonic is to create open, fun, beautiful games which respect the players' intelligence and enables their creativity, freedom, emotion, and sharing,” said Rod Humble, Studio Head at Paradox Tectonic. “Our studio structure is using best practices for modern development: a flat organization in a low-friction environment with a team of highly experienced domain experts. It’s a privilege to be reunited with so many world-class colleagues from so many triple-A projects, and the team and I are delighted to join Paradox and be part of driving the company’s next cycle of growth. Our shared values of quality and putting the customer first made Paradox the perfect fit for us.”

seems impossible, but what do I know?

Even as someone who works in marketing, damn if thats not a salad of buzzwords.

World of darkness sims game? Good it's in Berkeley. But still California is quite expensive place for studio. Workers are paying the price so the high ups get to network and rub shoulders.
Of course it got its benefits if you know the right people and higher ups bring you along.

Will be interesting to see if we get an "art" game from paradox.

They will create the fabled Victorian Sim dating game, and it will released before Vicky3.

I dont know if this its a good or a bad thing, but we will see...

To be honest there have been discussions in the past of a new prospective life sim from paradox after the success of skylines. I think with Humble at the helm, paradox could really bring something beautiful as the current Sims gameplay is getting stale and old.

I always wanted something akin to Maxis shelved project Simsville to be released. It was going to be a game where you could basically build a city and let your Sims move in, watching their daily lives and playing with them too. Basically a SimCity and The Sims hybrid.

Now if paradox could pull that off it would truly be a next step in the life simulation genre. EA abandoned the idea ages ago so why not revive the concept?
