Hate to be that guy, but in the Paradox XL YouTube stream VOD for the first episode of Masters of Universalis is a picture of Queen Victoria. She did not reign in the EUIV period, so it is unusual for her to be shown in rather official looking artwork. So either Vic III confirmed, or PDS is playing a prank on us. More likely the later, but we can dream. What's wrong with being optimistic?

Really cool easter egg! I was not aware of this, so thanks for pointing it out.

I think there is a high probability that Paradox is already working on Victoria 3. The question for me is when they are planning to announce it.

https://pdxcon.paradoxplaza.com/ 2019 is October 19-20th. Only two days though... Maybe then?

I would guess that PDXcon would be the most likely place for them to announce Victoria 3, but it is unclear whether they will do it this year or in the following years. I think they may have a few other announcements later this year.

Martin Anward (Wiz) recently left Stellaris to lead an unannounced project at PDS which many people are assuming to be Victoria 3 because of his previous involvement with Victoria 2. If that is the case, then he either is only starting work on Victoria 3 now or someone else has been secretly leading it for a long time and they have handed it over to him near release as they did with Stellaris.

I am not sure that points to a new game in development. Even if Victoria 3 isn't in development, the Victoria franchise itself is a big part of Paradox.

If it's Wiz it's definitely Victoria 3. V2 is his passion project. He worked on it long after they turned the lights out in the development cycle. I have a passionate belief that the man would straight up murder anyone that would try to develop Victoria 2 in secret without them. Most likely with polar bear claws.

Found on Paradox's FB:

Not a Facebook user, but I'm assuming that the lack of "like" hearts, comment bubbles or whatever they are, or other icons either means that those are cut off below the bottom of the page, or else Victoria 2 isn't being tracked for some reason. I can't imagine that it would have zero likes or comments.

It don't get what that means?
It was a synchronised twitter post accross multiple Paradox accounts responsible for promoting individual games.

It would seem it's connected to the promotion of VtM:Bloodlines 2 which was just announced. And a humorous jab at the "Vicky 3 confirmed" crowd ;) But one hopes that someday the next jab or trololol turns out to be actually a tease...

"Vicky 3 confirmed" crowd

To be fair, this only happens when the delay is too much. For example, I distinctly remember people kept asking for sequels to HoI 3 and EU 3 here on the forums. Had sequels for those games not been released, you would most definitely have had a lot more noise.

That being said, the early-mid industrial age is definitely my favorite period in history and its only covered by Vicky and Empire Total War. Hopefully, Anno 1800 should be good as well. I am just soooo tired of games with bows and arrows and spears. I want my damned muskets!

Hoping for Stellaris 2 before Vicky 3.
I'm not the only one that thinks they should stop development on the current version of Stellaris, let it die a horrible death, and start over with a clean slate I see.

Good man!

What is so bad with Stellaris?

He probably wants to think that Stellaris was a promising fluke rather that a big financial success that it is.

The Stellaris 2 discussion would be off-topic for this thread, so while it was a fun one-off comment and reply I'm definitely not going to get into a debate and derail (yet another :D ) Victoria III confirmed thread.

However, it's got me thinking it might be worth making a thread in the Stellaris forum tonight after I get home.
