This is neither a request nor a gathering of information to release one. I'm just wondering if someone, person or group, is working in something of that magnitude or if it is something reserved to HBS for an expansion or a "Battletech 2".

That war is a pivotal moment in Battletech lore, the greatest before the Clan Invasion and arguably the only succession war that had some success with many interesting operations. I'm very curious to know if someone is planning something to represent it in this game.

XLRP or 3025 are a bit closer to the 4th SW time-frame.

I haven't seen a 4th SW mod as of yet - but I've seen a lot of good ideas tossed out about things to add to one.

Mechs and equipment from the 4th Succession War era should become more widespread with some of the mod packages. Don't know about any custom missions or flashpoints, though; that's probably out of the scope for now. (Unless someone really, really wants to prove me wrong - I would love that!)

Not sure we will see a full on 4sw mod.
There are existing mods right now that give us the mechs and equipment mostly.
What I am hoping for is a series of FP mods that give us 4sw things to do.

Question.....does anyone know if the 4sw ever reached any of the planets we have access to right now?
I'd check but am at work.

I'd check but am at work.

No conflicts covered in the NAIS 4th SW Atlas Vol1 or 2 that I recall.

Incidents occurred, but nothing of major note.

Taurians sat around waiting for an invasion that never came.

Magistracy kept low.

Not much else of note here.

Double the size of the map heading coreward and you have a TON of systems involved.

@Justin Kase ya i cant find anything either.
looks like we would need a map mod to add at least more Liao and davion territory in order to do anything remotely related to the 4th SW.
or some kind of workaround.

I am working on 4th war stuff but its weeks away. I work on it when I can but I've a 93 year old mother in law I've got to help look after. As she's a touch demented it can be difficult, humorous, and wildly chaotic. It's certainly an experience! And it's also first call on my time because this is a hobby, not a job, and that's family.

I may wait for Urban Warfare to incorporate the changes and maps from that which also gives me more chance to polish. Going is slow because I haven't done anything with computer code of any kind in ohhhh about 20 years or sooooo. It's been awhile.

The main issue with doing a 4th war mod is we're in the wrong corner of inner sphere. During the 4th way this part of space currently portrayed in the game was rather on the quiet side. I may have to very well learn how to make the games star maps to do what I want which will mean more time spent. I'm a bit of a perfectionist. But maybe I'll get lucky and someone will do regional star maps for the game.

As for 4th war time period I'm guessing the Arano restoration was PEACEFULLY absorbed into the Tarian Concordat as it core worlds were originally colonized by the Concordat. As the 4th war period was a time of lowered tensions and co-operative development between the the Tarians and the Magistry of Canopus as both wanted to not be involved in the current series of wars and led to the founding of a joint force known as the Colonial Marshals to clean up and monitor joint colonization efforts on the unclaimed and independent world laying between them. And to send a good many pirate and outlaw bands either on their way or into the the grave.

Now as for 4th war flavor I would recommend 3025 Extended, and weapons diversity 3025. While a full on controlling a merc command during the 4th war just isn't possible.. YET.. it is a possible long long term goal. I can promise you we old guys want it! We've only been waiting for a operational;/tactical merc game set in the 4th war for ohhhhh.. what 20 years or so? (SLDF royal divisions mod is fun to stack in there too)

Lady Aleko's Rogue Tech works fine for a wild and wooly post clan, post dark age universe, and work has been done to build a timeline into RT. There's a lot to do for the modders and some stuff is just going to have to wait on Mitch and Company over at HBS to do their part because we can only build on what they do. Remember.. this is a commercial product!.

None of this is going to happen quickly. So please don't stress at all. Battletech has been around 30 some years as an IP.. it's not going away any time soon.

With any luck we will get some details on the Aurigan Coalition at the end of the month.

Has anyone gotten the House Arano sourcebook and does it give any info on the Aurigan area post 3025?

nvm....that it came out 1 march...seems it has been delayed

It would need a bigger map, no doubt, the main changes were around the old Terran Hegemony as the Draconis March, I think. The whole periphery from the Oberon Confederation to the Concordat was calm.

Heh - yes, that is what I was referencing ;) I am hoping it will include a TT legal stats and lore for the Vargr and Sleipnir. With those Norse names, I am half wondering if they come from the Illyrian Palatinate... though, to make them close to TT they will need Fusion Engines, which would be on the uncommon side for the Periphery :p

EDIT: For any interested, attached are the closest I could get to the BT Game stats AND be TT legal. This is what I used as a basis for the JK_Variants versions.

last i knew it wasnt working any longer outside of roguetech.

I wonder if it would be possible to create a "Very Long Campaign" adapting that map to 2025 extended or even maybe Rougetech itself, add the needed factions, set the stage to participate o the main events of the inner sphere, then add enough Flashpoint missions to keep you interested up to the 3068 "end of the classic Battletech" benchmark including the introduction of the LosTech from the Helm's Core, the 4th SW, the war of 3039, the tension of the 40's and the miscellaneous events around that time, go with the Clan Invasion, Operation Bulldog, the FedCom Civil War...

Man, that would be a mod project in the scope of Skyblivion or Fallout4: New Vegas. If someone has the leadership and vision to make it happen, I would like to participate somehow.
