I tried setting the refresh rate to 60hz but after I quit the game as suggested it reverts back to 25hz. I looked in settings and refresh rate was set at 0 so I changed it to 60 and saved and tried again but it still reverts back to 25hz, its not a massive problem but would like to know why it does it.
Any help appreciated as usual :)

If you run the game in Windowed mode, this is normal - the game can only use the refresh rate of the desktop.

I run the game in full screen.

Did you actually check if you run in "Fullscreen" in Options/Video-Window Mode ?

My mistake, I just assumed that it was in full screen due to the screen being full, after reading your reply I checked and it wasn't set as full screen so I apologise to AndrewT for not understanding what he was asking, and thanks Aardvark for making me check to see if I was actually running it in full screen and where to check.

My pleasure.
Personally i never play in Fullscreen, as the colours are crap in my case and i prefer Borderless anyway.
