With the final episode airing next weekend, I was wondering if the team after this will be creating a new bookmark hopefully for the next version that enables us to continue the story of GoT. I mean a lot has happened since AFFC and although I believe the bookmarks are based on the books rather than the show, perhaps with the release of the books still undeclared its time to incorporate both?

I think features could include a modifier for a heavily damaged Kings Landing and Winterfell, with Castle black being a complete ruin.

The Nights Watch could come back, but with the rebuilding of wall being required in some way or another.

I'd rather play a bookmark that i made myself than use the show continuity. The show has fallen so far since the end of season 4.

If GRRM never finishes his series, i'd be perfectly fine with not starting later than the AFFC bookmark.

I don't think we need a bookmark based on where the show has gone because there'd be too many factors that the show doesn't have that the mod would just have to make up (like the Young Griff's current situation). I will say though that, assuming we do get that sixth book one day, the show could be used as some alternate options to important characters like what's already in the mod such as Balon accepting Robb's offer.

Dany just took King's Landing? 1% chance of her ordering it burned down.

100% chance, more like. That turn of events had been foreshadowed so hard since Season 1 I'm having trouble believing I was watching the same show as all these shocked people.

She clearly loved fire, thought of herself as almost divine and never once showed mercy. It's shocking that so many people are shocked.

The "fans" spoiled the show for themselves with their overcomplicated theories.
They fail to see even the most obvious interpretation keys in the show, such as the clear opposition between mundane and magic (which is also a thing in the books btw) or the anti-war message. Instead they are all about prophecies and "good writing" has become a synonym with "wits and extended explanations". Things that GRR Martin despises, just like he dislikes fanfiction like the theories written by the "fans".

If GoT season 8 shows something, it's that people don't deserve 8 seasons of a great fantasy show with underlying themes. Just give them memes, laughs, sex and violence and they're happy.

Keep in mind GRRM shared the basic outline with the creators of the show and how it'd end...I have no doubt that Daernys was always intended turn like that - just not as abruptly as she did in the TV series. I'm sure GRRM will take his time to develop the arc for Daernys far more throughly than the show did.

After all, power corrupts.

I would not want modmakers to make such a bookmark and waste time on DnD absurd fan-fiction. A submod would be however welcome, and I could prepare that, even though a lot would need to be changed that wasn't by show (for most important example what with Edric Storm...?).

The TV series cut out a good amount of material because of time/space considerations. If the TV series actually did the books as they were written, GRRM wouldn't have to worry about the show overtaking his books. And not butcher Dorne the way they did (aside from Oberyn) They did the Sand Snakes an *enormous* disservice in the TV series..they came across like cardboard characters.

They didn't just butcher Dorne, they slaughter the whole books by the end of season 8 :D

D&D probably play this mod before they write the story for season 6-8, they even apply in-game mechanics to the show (e.g. commander teleportation) :p

I can only assume that, should both WINDS and SPRING ever be completed, there will be bookmarks showing their current states of affairs, and possible a bookmark which would pick up at the end of SPRING so you could chart the way forward from there yourself.

But the key part here is it would be based on the books, not the show, as they have differed significantly by season 8. It's safe to say that the final result is more or less the same, but the details will matter. And the developers of the mod have always been quite clear that the mod is based on the books, not the show. The show has only been used (I believe) to fill in some details in places where it gave detail that the books didn't, and does not conflict with something else that the books established.

IIRC, there were unofficial Winds of Winter and Dragon and Wolf bookmarks made by Sinstar several versions ago, but they no longer work with the present version.

I don't know him personally, but I wish he'd update them, since they last worked with version 1.5 or so. I don't believe they ever worked with portrait replacer either.

I love that we are all kind of assuming that, even in an uncertain far future, we will still be playing CK.

Mind you, I don't disagree, far from it. After all, I would probably still play Deus Vult if my pc didn't run CK due to some ghost in the machine, and this amazing mod, in particular, is the reason I keep coming back to Crusader Kings.
But there is something curious about this, isn't it?

Because, CK2 is like GoT even if it ends and was garbage in the end (game of throne) I still like it and will always come back to it
