Finally :p

Seriously though, I'm looking forward to trying this one out. The big question is, what's in store for the future of CK2? We now have two free patches that could have easily be released as a small DLC, but still no words about any possible future DLC. Which puts us in a strange position where we can enjoy new content but still have to worry somewhat that the development of the game can cease at any moment.

How long did it take for you guys to actually develop this bookmark? It's been so quick from announcement to release for us, but surely this is a thing you must've been researching and working on for many months, yeah?

Establish Castle Habsburg: For those of you who are particularly interested in weirdly shaped jawlines, we have added a decision to form Castle Habsburg. If you play as anyone of the Etichonen dynasty and hold the province of Basel, you will have the decision to establish the Habsburg castle. All close (living) relatives of the founder in question will become a part of the new von Habsburg dynasty.
this is some of the horniest i have ever physically been

is there any chance we can get some more neat cadet decisions like this? for example, forming the many capetian cadets from earlier bookmarks, or forming the wettins as the hunfridings, and so on

Work on it started around Christmas last year.

@Snow Crystal can you add Serbia to the empire of Bulgaria in both the bookmark and the decision? I'm afraid it would look very weird on the de jure map otherwise.

And I thought I knew much about the von Habsburg, but never knew that they are "related" to the Etichonen, that I never heard before.

Awesome patch, interesting new bookmark ... unfortunately I have to wait until PDXCon to buy Holy Fury and don't really wanna play without the additions in Holy Fury :(

The connection has been in the game since The Old Gods DLC. :)

The decision actually takes the Kingdoms you hold and make them a part of the new Empire, if I recall correctly. Though for DeJure setup, it is too late to start changing that now.

Is the new bloodline from Mardavij's Legacy flagged as a "created bloodline" or in other words: does it block the "Forge Bloodline" ambition?

Not as far as I know.

Local Traditions of Rus: For the Norse Germanic rulers of Kievan Rus, it might be a good idea to turn to the local traditions (see Russian culture and Slavic faith) if you want better relations with your vassals. If Yngvar isn't played by a player, the AI will choose to use this decision at game start.

Bulgarian Empire: This is not actually for the 936 bookmark itself, as… Well… There already is a Bulgarian Empire there, but rather for the fans of Bulgaria who want to recreate history in the earlier bookmarks.

1. Is the local tradition decision available only for Yngvar or not? Can another ruler (e.g. Rurik in 867 bookmark) make the same decision?
2. Is there any requirements for e_Bulgaria formation? Culture, religion, titles, kingdoms under control?

Sort of bummed, but not surprised that the Volga Finns situated between the Kievan Rus and Bolgharia aren't touched upon at all it seems. It's to be expected as they aren't popular, except to eccentrics like me, and historical sources for them are either hard to find or untranslated.

They would be interesting to play at least and serve as pawns in the struggle between Kievan Rus and Bolgharia.

Still I hope the northern Kievan Rus, at least, is ruled by Finnic(Vepsian, et al) vassals of King Yngvar/Igor as that was the traditional agreement, or at least the legend, of Varangian rule there.
I'm dubious as to the actual history of that "event", but it would not be the first time Paradox skews things in a more...lets say interesting/fun direction.

Still it's great that you made a free patch of this size. Thanks!

Wasn't the Habsburg's whole thing that, sooner or later, they were related to every other noble family in Europe? :p

You said you tried to keep all six pretty self contained (presumably so you didn't have to go on a goose hunt through 1066+ for a lot of bloodlines) but do any of them survive past that point?

Great work as always. Can't wait to try it out!

The Fatimid bloodline do. I don't think any of the others survive past 936.
