Lately I'm experiencing crashes when playing CK2 -- either when the game is starting on the loading screen, or when selecting a character and starting the game. Currently I'm not using any mod neither. Reading other posts about issues here... I did a clean uninstall removing the folder from my Library and Documents and also removing Steam completely but the game still crashes. Btw, I have a Mac.

After a couple of attempts each time I try to start or continue a game CK2 is playable but I'd like to fix this annoying issue. Thanks in advance.

Lately as in since 3.1.1 ?

If you revert to 3.1.0 in the Steam Betas tab for the game, and start a new campaign, does it happen then too?

Generate the problem under 3.1.1 again, then:

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/CK2/settings.txt.
From your Documents/Paradox/CK2/logs/ folder, attach system.log .

Also in Steam please click on Steam-Help-System Info, and paste everything there into a text file and attach that here.

I fear this might be the problem I am also facing. What religion or empire are the leaders you're selecting a part of? I've noticed CK2 seems to crash every time without fail when I select a ruler under the Byzantine empire, but it has no problems selecting a Catholic or Islamic leader...

Here are the files.
I see you have an Intel video system which is not supported hardware for this game. But that in and of itself shouldn't cause a crash.

Do you find it is connected to certain startup character selections, as mentioned above?

I know Intel graphics are not supported but I have other Paradox games as EU4, HOI4 or even I:R and they work well and (at least not yet) experienced crashes with those games. Also, the only issue I had with CK2 was a glitch with the wasteland (wastelands looked gridded) but disabling "Transparent Wastelands" the game looks good. After 3.1.1 the game crashes with almost every character (I tried Robert Guiscard, Heinrich IV, Al-Mustansir, Andronikos Palaiologos, Alfonso "the Avenger", Godfrey of Bouillon...) and no matter if they are catholics, muslims, byzantines or even the bookmark (1066, 1337, 769 or 1099): when the "initialising game" screen appears, 90% of times the game crashes (sometimes there's a small chance of no crashes) and I go back to the desk. Playing as Godfrey of Jerusalem it happened almost every time I clicked in the option "continue" from an available save.

Alright, I think I can 'move on' since on 28th May (or soon) will be released 3.2 version ("Iron Century"). It's obvious that there's something wrong with the current version of the game that 'breaks' it for Mac users, something that wasn't in the previous versions. I can wait and try the new patch (tomorrow) and see if CK2 still crashes when starting a new game or loading a save.

Great to hear! Let me know here if that changes.
