Yup, today was a productive Saturday, in terms of code. I fixed and altered some more things besides those related to pregnancies... all good stuff!

On my part i'm adding all tooltips of trait adittions on the child genetical trait gains.. Right now it's only a "written" event that adds the info without the tooltip "child gains x trait"

Regarding homages, i'm doing some performance improvements and adding an option that fires only if certain conditions are met (mainly diplomatic level and prestige) where the vassal can opt to avoid homage.

It will fire new events that will make the liege decide, in time, if he wants to force that homage or let it go.

If he wants to force it, it can go very very wrong for either vassal or liege, or vassal can accept homage.. but it will still not be the same ceremony as usual since it has a component of the vassal wanted to avoid it on the first place.

Cardolam is adding stewards events for this week!

Just wondering will eventually Muslims etc be able to get homage events as well ?. I think you mentioned they might get them in the future. interesting enough in my shatter world game. Muslims were the first to form kingdoms. while the Catholics have not just yet :D

Muslims will get homages in the future yes, as well as zoroastrians. I need to do more research on the matter before going into it.

Expect big chances in homages next patch btw, a lot of fixes, balances and other stuff like AI logic. I've added like 15 more events
 
There's also a new interesting feature being designed and coded but it will not be ready this Friday.
Also one should not forget there are a couple important bugs fixed related with stillbirths and miscarriages for this Friday.
 
As a teaser for tomorrow release, here is one of the small event pools dedicated to stewards. In this case, depending on your decisions and your stats and traits, you may end up with a road network covering your demesne... Pick it if it looks profitable!

Fixes & Tweaks:

- Fixed Stillbirths causing women to remain pregnant and in hide for the rest of their lives
- Fixed Miscarriage event allowing the women to continue to give birth
- Recoded the Miscarriage event to fire over the 9 months of pregnancy instead of 6 (would not fire on "last months" trait)
- Made the threat level increase from discovered murder attempts dependent on the personality of the murderer. It's not good to have Cruel, Envious, Wroth, Arbitrary or Deceitful. The bigger the number of these traits,the worse...
- Removed the threat increase from the extermination option of the Migration system. Used other penalties
- AI will decrease its desire to murder a target the bigger its own Threat (the assassin's threat)
- Fixed several typos, mostly related with quotation markes in the delayed genetic traits events
- Decreased the chance of stillbirths to be more realistic
- Increased the chance of miscarriages to be more realistic
- Separated finally some defines that are tailored for my preferences and my machine (they are resource intensive) into other mod. Will improve performance of Dark Ages after 1st century of play on older machines.
- Made Doges improve the chances of their heirs in the next election. Was not working like that in the previous week implementation
- The ruler that fuels discontent on another ruler's province cannot be a prisoner nor incapable anymore
- Changed randoms into random list (less traits additions in general)
- Nerfed a little bit option where liege refuses homage
- Changes to event descriptions (homage)
- Allowed homage mechanics without DLC. With Holy Fury the king still has to be crowned in order for the ceremony to happen.
- Homage has now option of trying to avoid it. Liege will eventually be confronted with the decision to force homage or let it go. Forcing it can be riskier (worse than usual opinions with vassal) but grant better benefits if accepted. If the vassal denies forced homage, liege has a chance of completely revoking his vassal feudal status.
- Improved option descriptions (homage)
- A lot of balance tweaks on homage
- Added all genetic childs tooltip for each trait addition and improved logic behind showing options.


New Content:

- Introduced modifiers for very low levels of the 5 stats, adding penalties for rulers
- Added Steward events (unfinished)

The threat level didn't go crazy like before, but I figure that randomly gain 35 infamy with no pop up/event can't be right so I post the comment on steam. If it's not vassal then probably something else.
I didn't use piracy or assassination.

What mods are you using? At the most extreme, if this is a consequence from Dark Ages, I am willing to create a rule to exempt characters from gaining Threat from the various implementations of the mod.
However, at this time I am not at all sure this is a Dark Ages thing...

To everyone, I just ask if you are experiencing sudden increases in own Threat (infamy) in your characters, without warning (i.e. you just notice the number go up).

I have been playing with these mods regularly, the latest addition is the dark ages.
As far as I know aside from dark ages there is no mod in this list will increase threat level.
I didn't have this problem before using dark ages.

I'll code for next Friday a game rule for characters to avoid gaining infamy.
I'll also warn the liege of increases in infamy by the vassals.
 
Well, I ended up coding an event pool to give the liege the capability of warning the vassal against planning actions that may increase his chance of gaining infamy... so, one more reason to pick the "yes" option in the new game rule that covers infamy.
 
Ech, everytime when I just want to download your mod and start playing with it, you came up with some new features & fixes for next week so I ending with waiting for the next friday. :D But, seriously, great job guys with your mod. :)

Well, except for stuff like the new game rules, which don't get introduced very often, I think that it should be generally fine to start with the current version and update the mod every Friday to enjoy the new features and bug fixes
 
Sure, one can pick the developments every week and apply to the present game he is running. No need to restart. The only part the player is missing is the application of the game rules. But by itself, it doesn't cause issues.
