I think Berhane gets a significantly stronger start than the other commanders, such that she can usually take out any AI she chooses to focus on if the player doesn't intervene.

Dvar 1[/B] - I didn't really see anything that seemed super branching. This one just seemed really straight forward. Only choice being to war the other Dvar or not.

I'm in Dvar 2, and very early in the mission the Dvar hero from the "rival" Dvar faction from the 1st mission joined me with a stack of troops and 1 colonizer. I'm pretty sure it is because I allied him in the first mission.

I won the first Vanguard mission "by mistake" and it switched to Promethean for the second mission although I never actually got the choice of whether I wanted to. Didn't take the factory. Huy tagged along to the second mission.

Switched to Voidtech with Kir'ko by befriending the Amozons, this time I got the choice. Starting hero apart from the commander followed to the second mission (it's hard to remember Kir'ko names).

On second Kir'ko now, chose not to support the event that's unfolding there. Will update as I play through the different campaigns.

I played Vanguard 1 again (because first time I used pumped heroes from tutorial (now its fixed)), just destroyed everyone. As expected, Huy did not join me in second mission. But technology has changed to Promethean, although I did not touch Molten Earth Arsenal at all.
All plot heroes from second missions will participate in final battle. Amazon have maximum - 4 heroes (excluding Syndicate hero mentioned above), and Syndicate have only one, although with some Synthesis troops.

Regarding the first Vanguard, has anyone taken the Factory? And if you did, did you get the choice of switching to Promethean? Seems weird the other factions get to choose while the Vanguard is forced to change. They *should* be able to keep VT.

I'm playing linearly through the campaign and have arrived at the first Dvar mission. Which means I finished the Vanguard and Kir'ko campaigns. Unfortunately I did most things the same so I don't have much to add.

Did the same Syndicate leader show up in mission 2 and did she offer to work together?

Vanguard Mission 1:
Did anyone destroy the Sexbot? How did the other commends react?

Vanguard Mission 2:
I also think Promethean is enforced. One of the main victory quests is burning down the whole planet after all.

I wonder if there is any reason not to help the Kir'ko in the beginning. It gives you an additional hero and stack of units. And helps diplomatically with the faction.

Victory boils down to 3 choices:
Listen to the Psionic entity that is or poses as late Empress Camilia who is willing to burn an entire planet to bury the knowledge and technology of the cataclysm.

Revive the previous Emperor who instigated the Cataclysm to break the hold CORE had on the old empire.

Help Syndicate retrieve the void tech of the cataclysm and the emperors body. Then you get to meet CORE who apparently wants to rebuild a more just and fair empire but employs slavers to do it.

All three options suck imho but I want to point out that if you don't resurrect the emperor his faction is probably neutered since you foiled their main goal.

Kir'ko Mission 1:

There's an immediate split here weather you go for vengeance or reconciliation. I did the later but found it strange that you couldn't switch to celestial since you follow the prophets teachings at that point.

Kir'ko Mission 2:
The associates of our two favourite rulers, empress Camilia and CORE, make their appearance. CORE acuses the Empress of wanting to use the new queen to control the Kir'ko. Since I didn't want a new queen anyway I allied with him. Would be interested what your reaction to the Queen project is when you're on the revenge path.

Seems like each race might have an option to just say ''screw them all'', or choose between CORE and Empress sides.

For Kir'ko mission 1:
It did give me Celestial as secret tech for second mission. I went the ''alliance with dream and vanguard person'' route.

Amazon Mission 1:
Beat the Kir'ko and being friendly with the Vanguard. I don't think I got any bonusses out of that one. Didn't pick Xenoplague research so didnt get that for second mission. I'm not sure if I had any extra heroes besides the Commander.

Amazon Mission 2: (Celestial Tech)
Dvar and mercenary spawned on my continent. Teleporter to Berhane right next to my second city. Kir'ko on the other side of the world.
Dvar was friendly-ish, Kir'ko could be convinced to fight Berhane.
No CORE/Empress in this mission?

Syndicate Mission 1: Did the ritual the Void syndicate dude's way (got Psynumbra as result in second mission?)

Syndicate Mission 2: (Psynumbra Tech)
Only had the commander, no heroes. Used the countermeasure, declined both CORE and Empress sides. Went with Doomsday to win because it took too long.

Assembly Mission 1:
Kept the Vanguard woman, human. Convinced Kir'ko. Did some Dvar quests for both sides. Did some quests for the Amazon (gained access to Celestial tech in second mission?) Couldnt continue those since I had to kill the King I already killed. Found the thingy at the Autonom place.
Beat the Vanguard lady and won.

Assembly Mission 2: (Celestial Tech)
Started with Commander + L0G3N-8 + Vanguard woman (not sure what happens to her if you make her Assembly).

2 Main quests available for me: Fight for CORE, or fight against CORE. Not sure if more options are available. Had 2 allies at the start. (CORE)

Did the same Syndicate leader show up in mission 2 and did she offer to work together?
No, instead of Sina there another AI Syndicate player, her brother, who seeks revenge.
I wonder if there is any reason not to help the Kir'ko in the beginning. It gives you an additional hero and stack of units. And helps diplomatically with the faction.
More important, this Kir'Ko hero accompany you in final mission.

Syndicate Mission 1: Did the ritual the Void syndicate dude's way (got Psynumbra as result in second mission?)

I did so but didn't get Psynumbra. He even asked me to walk the path of Psynumbra with him, ut it did nothing.

You are sure you used the right option to complete the mission? (research option)

Wouldn't at all surprise me. Though it was actually the Syndicate that took Soppho down. That isn't too surprising. My map was divided into three continents. Soppho and the Syndicate on the one directly south of me. Me and the Dvar on the Northern Continent. And on the vertically tall Western Continent were Berhane and the Kir'Ko. So each of my AI buddies lost to the AI sharing their continent.

Anyways I didn't see any text in the end mentioning Soppho. Which isn't too unexpected I guess. Just surprised there was no mention of her falling in battle or anything.
It also doesn't seem to be guaranteed that a defeated leader is necessarily dead, too. If the epilogue doesn't specify that someone is dead, the safe bet is probably that they've evacuated.

Regarding the first Vanguard, has anyone taken the Factory? And if you did, did you get the choice of switching to Promethean? Seems weird the other factions get to choose while the Vanguard is forced to change. They *should* be able to keep VT.
I took the factory - from memory, there wasn't an immediate choice offered. I think there's roughly a 50/50 split between enforced tech changes and being able to choose.

Completed the campaign - slight spoiler as to how choices affect final mission.

Final mission:
Choose any commander you have completed the race campaign with to play.

Player gets to choose which side they want to join (3 options)
All remaining forces are allocated to side A or B only.
Commanders you haven't completed the race campaign for will have a preference for side A or B.
Commanders you've completed the race campaign for may choose a different side to originally depending on your choices in their campaign.
All 6 commanders you've grown to love are in it as well as their nemeses. So if your two favourites have differences of opinion you'll fight your creations (retaining custom names, appearances etc.)
Skills get reset for final mission but levels don't.

I think though haven't tested that all commanders can do things in their campaign that change the AI from preferring side A, B or C. This could make the final battle much easier or harder depending on which choices you make.

Secret tech options
Vanguard - only got promethean
Kir'ko - Psynumbra/Voidtech
Dvar - changed starting character on dvar 2 - customisable commander, secret tech forced change
Syndicate - Synthesis/Psynumbra
Amazon - can join xenoplague
Assembly - Synthesis/Celestian

Fantastic end to a campaign, liked the unbalanced aspects
