"Is everyone here ? Yes ? Alright !
Hello everyone and welcome for the 2019 edition of the Tour du Marly-Gomont, the biggest sporting event of the year on the territory of our village ! We are very proud to see that this year 17 top athletes, coming from everywhere around the world, have signed up for this race. A marked improvement over the 9 riders from last year - this race is growing at a quick pace and will soon become the jewel of the whole department !
I suppose you all know the rules, the rider with the best time at the end of the race wins. We're, uh, not too sure yet how long the race will last. Hopefully we'll get it to last 6 or 7 days, but you know how it is, negotiating with the public powers for this kind of event is never too easy, especially since the village's two gendarmes were sent to Paris to help quell the Yellow jackets rebellion.
Anyway, I now declare this race open ! May the best rider wins !

Oh, and just before the race starts, there's something I should add. I've heard disturbing reports - a professional team have apparently secretly joined the race. We remind all riders that this race is amateur and riders ride individually - we don't have the license for organizing a professional event (I'm hoping by next year the prefect will finally hear the voice of reason and allow the race to finally become fully professional, so that it may get the recognition it deserves, but... we're not there yet). Even more worrying, this supposed team would be ready to do everything possible to ensure one of their riders win the race ! As a consequence, we would like all riders to be on the lookout for suspicious behavior - we have prepared a special procedure to expel riders suspected of inappropriate behavior from the race, should the other riders decide so.

But don't let these thoughts darken your mind ! This is the greatest sporting event in the whole of Marly-Gomont. This is an occasion to celebrate the values of cyclism: sportsmanship, honesty and courage ! Riders, we will watch your prowess on our roads with great interest - may the best one win !"

While the 5 local farmers - and, curiously, one black person, who stands out in the rural village - stand up to applaud their mayor, all of you the 17 riders look at one another with uneasiness. What have you gotten yourself into ?

Possible roles:

Honest riders (Villagers) - x9

Simple riders who have come to take part in the race. Amateurs and not affiliated with any team. They have no information on other riders. Can each day vote to expel one rider from the race.

Members of the Ciel-Out&Bas Team (Werewolves) - x3

These three riders are not actually amateurs but professionals, part of a team - so they know each other's identity. Their aim is to have one of them win the race - with any mean necessary.

Each night may designate another rider as a target. The target, victim of sabotage, will abandon the race immediately.

Local rider (Seer) - x1

There's not too much to do in Marly-Gomont during summers, so out of boredom, a young lad from the village have signed up for the race. Watching cows old day becomes old quickly. Being a local rider, he notices weird behaviors and situations quickly, and is determined to preserve the reputation of the race.

Victory:

The Honest Riders and Local riders win once every Members of the Ciel-Out&Bas Team is out of the race, ensuring that the race can proceed normally.

Members of the Ciel-Out&Bas Team win once they are as numerous as Honest Riders and Local Riders, at which point they use their numerical superiority to ensure one of them win the race.

Detailed rules:

Spoilered for convenience, but every player is encouraged to read them (especially newer players)
Section 1: Signing up and Subbing

1 - Players will sign up by posting "In" in this thread while sign ups are open. The "In" must be clearly visible, which is to say there shall be no other text on the same line and it will preferably be bolded and in size 4+. Any other type of signing up runs the risk of being ignored by the GM.

2 - Players who do not wish to play the game from the start may still sign up as a sub. For that, a player will follow the same guidelines as above, except posting "Sub" except of "In". The players who made themselves eligible for subbing in this manner will be listed by the GM. Any player signing up for subbing implicitly accepts that he is ready to sub any player at any point in the game should it be required. No confirmation will be asked by the GM to the sub. If you are not confident in your ability to subbing in the game, then don't make yourself available for subbing.

3 - Should a player who signed up or made himself available for subbing no longer want to play, he may contact the GM (either via PM or in the thread) to notify him of the situation. If the game has not started yet or the sub not been used yet, he will be taken out of the list of players/subs. If the game has started or the sub became a player, he will be subbed out immediately or autolynched at deadline should there be no subs available, with a minimum of 24 hours between the player being taken out and the autolynch to allow the GM to search for a sub.

4 - Players may sign ups as subs even once the game has started. There are two cases then, one for newer players and one for former players who were killed during the game and wish to come back in the game:

a. Newer players may make themselves for subbing by posting "Sub" in the thread, following the guidelines detailed in 1 and 2.

b. Former players may become subs if they died during Night 2 or before. Players dying after Night 2 will never be eligible for subbing. Additionally, any player who has insight information a newer player can not have (such as a former Werewolf or a Seer having scanned players) will not be eligible for subbing. To register for subbing, a former player meeting the conditions for subbing will have to contact the GM via PM and tell him he wishes to be a sub by using the term "Sub".

5 - People who made themselves available for subbing before the game starts will be listed. Said list will be refreshed by the GM and will be available at any point in the game. However, any player signing up as a sub once the game has started will not be listed publicly. The GM however will keep track of available subs privately.

Section 2: The game

1 - Once the game has started, only living players may post using the default post colors (white). Any other person wishing to reply to the thread, be it the GM, a dead player, a sub or a simple spectator, will have to post in another color.

2 - Roles will be handed out by PM by the GM to the players. If you have a question about your role, ask the GM by PM, not in the thread. Additionally, while discussing roles in the thread is not forbidden, you are not allowed to post concrete proofs of you role (such as a screenshot of the role PM you received) in the thread or to other players via PM. Anyone who does so will be immediately autolynched. You are also not allowed to directly quote the GM's PM role, nor any other PM from the GM containing in game information (such as a scan result), be it in either the thread or via PMs to other players.

3 - There will be 24 hours for voting. Voting is done by posting "VOTE" + [Name of the player who is being voted]. It is required that the vote be the only text present on a line. Should the vote be inside a line of text, it will not be counted. On top of that, it is recommended to bold your vote and post them in size 4+. Votes must target a living player. Any other type of vote will be discounted and the player will be considered as not being voting.

4 - Should a player wish to cancel his vote, he will post "UNVOTE" + [Name of the player he was formerly voting for]. The same guidelines as for voting (see above) apply. The player will then be voting nobody, and so will be able to vote someone else.

5 - Any vote made while the voting player is already voting someone else will be discounted. The incident will be reported in future votecounts for the day.

6 - Should a player not be voting at deadline (either by not voting at all during the day or by unvoting then not voting), he will be eligible for subbing. If there are no subs available, the missed vote will be remembered by the GM. Should the player in question miss a second vote, and no sub be available at the time of the second missed vote, the player will be immediately autolynched.

7 - Night orders will be given to the GM using PMs. Any order given after the deadline will be discounted. The last given order is the one which will be used. Should the order not be applicable, it will not be executed at all. It is however possible to preemptively define back up orders to avoid not doing anything in case the primary order is not applicable.

8 - Votecounts will be provided by the GM throughout the day. Other players may post votecounts, but only the GM's votecounts are considered officials.

9 - At the end of the day and shortly after deadline, an official votecount for the day will be posted. Players will then have 15 minutes to voice any complaints they might have with the votecount (such as votes missed by the GM or irregularities skipped by the GM). The votecount will become official 15 minutes after being posted and will no longer be subject to change, even if the votecount may be wrong in regards to the rules described here.

10 - Non living players (ghosts, spectators, subs having not subbed in yet, etc...) may post in the thread (see the restriction on color in Section 2 ยง1). They may not, however, reveal any inside information to players or advise them in any way.

Section 3: Death

1 - The player with the most votes at deadline is lynched. Should several players be tied with the most votes, all are lynched. The lynch takes place immediately: the lynched player(s) is (are) considered dead at deadline.

2 - The player hunted by the wolves during the night is considered dead once the night update is online. Therefore, any player hunted during the night is still considered alive for gameplay purposes between the deadline for the day and the nightly update.

3 - During the night, the wolves hunt last, and the Seer scans first. Should the Seer scan the player hunted by the Wolves, he will not gain any scan result. No back up order may prevent the scan from being lost in this case.

Section 4: Endgame

1 - The game ends once all of the Werewolves are dead - resulting in a Village victory - or once the Werewolves and allies are as numerous as the Village and allies - resulting in a Werewolf victory.

2 - The game will end after the final update, after which any restriction about posting is lifted (forum rules are not, however).

Special note:

The color used in this post is the GM's color. Nobody else in this thread may use it, whatever the reason might be.

DEADLINE IS 19:00 GMT
Convert to your own timezone !
Votes with a timestamp of 18:59 GMT are VALID
Votes with a timestamp of 19:00 GMT are NOT

I am however open to changing the deadline should players require it, but signal it before the start of the game.

Deadline will not be subject to changes once the game has started

In!

In as a Franceis d'Jeux rider.
(I almost certainly misspelled that, so feel free to correct it. Also, I seem to recall them having got another sponsor as part of their name too, so if you remember then make sure to add that too. Think it was FDJ something. Or perhaps I'm mixinfg thm up with another team.)

That was fast !

As usual if you spot any mistake point them out - it's a bit late here, I'm throwing this a bit quickly, so there probably are errors in the OP. I won't be able to start the game before Saturday, though I don't expect sign ups to close that fast.

Also for the set up, I've been wanting to host a Friends game last time, but there wasn't enough players. We'll see if we can get to 17 this time. Else I'll revert to a Seer setup to accomodate a lower number of players

I'm guessing that should be the Française des Jeux team ? :p

Yep. Couldn't remember how to spell it. Also, I was right in them having got another part to their name. From the 2019 season onwards they're teh Groupama-Française des Jeux.

Although the deadline isn't really good for me.

I'm having a bit of trouble reading the GM dark red(purple?) coloured text against the dark blue forum background.
I guess that's the reason why that color is not used. But I like it :(

Is it by any chance possible to use a different colour?
Yes, of course. Is this color OK for everyone ? I'm probably stealing someone else's color in the process - but my hand was forced by a bear, I'm sure they'll understand

Deadline can be moved, if other players agree with it. Though I can mostly move it earlier. Moving it to a later time would be then awkward for me :(

It's wine or maybe mahogany, but I called it wine in the Albuquerque big so I could have the salmon and wine packs. Honestly though they're close enough that no one would notice the difference. Also, thanks for the invite but I'm taking a break for a bit. I'm gonna be busy for the next week or so. I'll join if signups are going on when I have time again, but I'm hoping that isn't necessary.

Imma call the colors 'burgundy' and 'indigo'

Don't know about y'all, but I definitely like the burgundy color better. Usually lighter colors stand out better imo.

Also... Thanks for taking up this burden, Yvanoff!
