Updated to fix a few things and update graphics! The dueling system should be much more accurate in determining who you duel. No more dueling with -5 combat rating people. :p
Also, when you pick an Empress, the game shouldn't make you part of the inner court anymore.

UPDATE

(1.005)
  • Enhanced duel targeting and calculations
  • Other event and decision fixes here and there
  • Localization fixes for Imperial pretenders
(1.001)
  • Fixed Imperial Marriage
  • Enhanced character portrait graphics
  • Other event and decision fixes here and there

The mod itself is great, but I have two issues with it. The first one is pretty game breaking, and the second one is mostly just annoying.

1) Maybe I missed something, but it is never explained in game how succession works. The succession laws are not changed (I am currently A-C Prim), but every time my leader dies I lose my capital or simply lose the game. This makes a dynasty driven game like CK2 more or less impossible to play. Again, I might've not seen a message, but I looked around and couldn't find anything.

2) The "you need to Hold Court" provincial modifier happens way too often, and there aren't nearly enough events related to holding court. I would decrease its frequency to (at most!) once a year or once every two years. Preferably the number of associated events would be increased 10x, but I understand that takes time to program.

I believe this is a bug.

Whenever I die, it is game over. It always says my character was heirless, but this is not so. Laws matched and my son was my heir. No one took the province from me or anything, so it should have gone to my son. This has happened with two characters so far.

I've played custom characters with korean culture, if that makes any difference, though as far as laws and such go, it should be fine.

Yeah, its ruined one of my games. I decided to wait until they either change it or make it clearer what we can do to avoid this fate.

1. Okay, I will try to do a tutorial at some point. If you are INDEPENDENT, then inheritance laws will function normally. Otherwise, if you are a vassal, then you will follow a scripted inheritance program based off Imperial China's vassalage system.

Imperial China was not feudalistic like Europe was. Magistrates and Administrators and Governors do not just pass on their titles to their children. You MUST have a close relative who holds a TITLE in order to continue playing. So that means putting your relatives or your children into positions of power (such as by giving them titles or placing them in the Imperial capital bureaucracy so that they may be given a position there).

2. The hold court petitions ALREADY only fire at most, once a year. It's a random counter, so sometimes you may get a few petitions, and sometimes you'll get none. I do wish I had time to expand the events and have them have more of a storyline, but... meh..... You wanna write some event scripts? :)

I understand the general difference between the Medieval governing systems of China and Europe, I just didn't know how the game handled it. Making a tutorial is a good idea.

Howdy gang! Just putting feelers out there! Now that the game is released, I'd like to address the newbies to Three Kingdoms.

I know many players are unfamiliar with this mod's unique systems especially with regard to inheritance.

What would help most?

A. Youtube Tutorials
B. In-Game Hints
C. Readme File
D. All of the above

Please let me know and also, if anyone would like to make some AAR campaign videos, or if anyone would appreciate Twitch streams or something, please let me know here. :)

A steam release? This is wonderful, thank you. :D

A few suggestions about Kushan Empire -

- Kushans had almost fully Indianized by the time of Emperor Kanishka, 50 years before the start dates. In the reign of Emperor Vasudeva, majority of their empire was in India, and their capital was in the city of Mathura as well. Would it be possible for them to have Indian clothing or some influence of it?

- The banner of Kushan Empire should probably be a Trishul trident rather than a Dharmachakra wheel, which was not used as a flag. The Trishul is present in all of Kushana iconography (including coins) since around 80 AD all the way to their end. :)

- Kushan emperors developed and followed the Mahayana branch of Buddhism alongside Hinduism, so in case Buddhism spreads in China around the game map, it should be Mahayana branch first (i.e. characters should get Mahayan trait rather than other ones).

This mod is fantastic. I just have one question. I read earlier in the thread that when you're playing as a vassal, in order to not lose the game, you need to make sure your heir has a title before dying. Something was mentioned about imperial examinations. I cannot figure out how to do this and Sun Jian is about 50 now. Can someone explain this system to me in a bit of detail? Thank you.

Edit: Also, do swaying/antagonize options work currently in the mod?

And how do I get a title higher than Governor? In my current game, the Yuan family usurped the Han Throne. Gongsun Zan formed a coalition to destroy the Yuan usurpers. We defeated them. No one currently is either Chancellor or Emperor. No one appears to have the Mandate of Heaven or is a pretender. I have 3 governor titles, but can't form a new kingdom. With the small vassal limit and demesne size, I can't really expand more without getting a higher title. No one in the game is higher than a Governor/Inspector. How do I get a higher title? How does the mandate of heaven pass to someone else?

I know this thread is pretty dead, but i have no other way of getting the know-how of this mod so if anyone is here to answer me that'd be great:
Theres no tutorial or explanation about any of this mod so im pretty confused.
So, i formed a dynasty with myself as emperor in my current run, had 2 emperors back to back but the 3rd was a child, thought "ok, the chancellor is gonna rule until i become 16"
The chancellor decided he wanted to become emperor and i just get gameover'd. I get the point of him trying to become emperor and thats it but i dont even get a chance to fight? Theres no way for me to continue playing as my dynasty either? No way to stop him from just becoming emperor?
