I haven't read suggestions in a while so apologies if this has been suggested already.
Would be great to be able to choose my heir in a monarchy. At least among the sons if that's the type being used. Couldn't Kings do that then? Or let just me kill the garbage primary one. So much hassle to send him away... Just right click - > choose primary heir, done. Ty.

One more succession law for monarchies wouldn't be bad, but it would become the OP meta. You should propose some disadvantages to balance this out.

I don't know why it would be op.
But the eldest one could get increased powerbase over time, or raise a larger than normal army to regain control after the death of ruler (bc "rightful heir"). You could let foreign counties support him with money or men.

Why is that a problem? 99% of them are garbage anyway. Or do u mean that the ai won't?
No other succession laws allow choosing the best (or the least bad) heir. You can assassinate them or send them as mercs, but that's not free.
There would be no reason NOT to have that law. Every player would switch to that law ASAP and keep it for the rest of the game.
AI will most likely keep their default law they have or choose a random one.

Fair enough, good point. Maybe if you become an empire as a Republic it would be more fitting. Takes quite some time to become an empire.
