So i started a succession campaign for fun where we each play 25 years (max you can play less if you dont have the time/want to) and this short aar will be about the journey from 497 to 522 for Bactria

Beautifull bactria, bactria had long been loyal to the selucid dynasty but when the dynasty fell their replacement did not help bactria in the wake of a massive mauryan invasion. Although Bactria proved to be victorius in the maurya war we suffered heavily for it and set us back several decades in planning.

To ease the tentions of our border provinces we decided to let them be governed by their kin to make them more complacent with our rule.

The Antigonid realm to the far west attacked persia unexpetedly in early 503. Bactria decided to let Persia figure it out on their own as they had forced us to do when maurya attacked a generation prior.

Persia saw the writing on the wall and tried to placate us with money as if the blood of our fallen countrymen could be sold away that easily.

We decided to reform our army to help in the inevitable freedom war we no doubt will have to do to be free from the persian yoke.

Persia became humbled in the west and we saw their moment of weakness and decided to strike.

We were not the only enemies Persia had made, it was quite easy to convince the horse lords to the west and the sogdians to our east to stand with us.

Which changed the situation of the war quite drastically in our favor and turned a hard war into a quite easy one if i'm being honest.

In 3 years we had overrun Parthia and Aria and mini shul a city state that had rebelled against bactria in the past which persia stole for themselves in the peace treaty after the rebellion.

It took another 4 years of hard fought fighting but we were eventually able to conquer most of the eastern portions of the persian empire for ourselves and vassalised parthia and mini shul for ourselves.

The war had helped us to perfect steppe warfare something that surely will help in the times to come.

The loyalty of our border provinces are quite low but are making a recovery after seeing our victorious soldiers return home.

Sogdia draged us into a war with kucha and their revolt and the least i could do to reward their help in the last war was to join them even if only as a gesture.
