Played the game for about 10 hours yesterday, and exited the game and then put my computer into hibernate mode. Woke up, decided to just play for a small bit and it won't run. It kept crashing, I then went into the Store and checked for updates and nothing. So while the store was open, I tried rerunning it.

Only to see it appear that there was an update to the game and now its stuck with an 0x8007005 error.

I was getting this same error, when I tried to download the game as well.

What gives?

That error code is usually indicative of Steam missing files to run the game. Double check your AV program to see if it quarantined any of the update files, if so allow them, verify the game install through steam and that should fix it.

Except this is the Windows 10 Store version, not the Steam version. I should have stated that small fact :p

Probably best to do a clean reinstall then.

- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Introversion/Prison Architect/
(keep any valued save games, of course)
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

I have and it still doesn't exist, now as a programmer myself, I would imagine that the game would create this folder if it doesn't exist and that is clearly not the case. The other thing to note here is that the save games can be loaded and saved to fine, but what is this folder and why does the game think it doesn't exist.

I also know my way around the file system, I have checked manually. That folder doesn't exist at all.

There is no folder called Introversion in the local folder.

You're using MS Store right, that system tends to be completely locked down by Microsoft unless you know where to look. Any MS Store app has it's own folder/install in %LocalAppdata%\Packages. I'm not entirely sure what the name is as I don't have the store version, but hopefully it has either Introversion, Paradox Interactive or Introversion in its name.

I am aware of that, but please look at the post again and you will see that the location is the normal location reserved for data and synchronisation. But it is the fault of the game doing this, nothing that I am doing here!

Actually, I just realised that the information is in another post.

But to recap, there is an option in the game to open save folder in the options section, that is where the error is occurring from within the game.
