We are now very close. Only 2 categories left to reveal. I won't call them the most important or biggest, but any self respecting AARlander I am aware of would love to win one or both. And today we are looking at the writAAR. In the previous 3 years, we've only seen 2 individuals take home this prize. And both were once again nominated this year. In fact, a grand total of 36 different writAARs were given nomination by our 18 voters. That's huge! But we must get to the winner and our top 3 (actually top 5) were fairly close. Thus I give to you the 2020 WritAAR of the Year:

Already winner of both the Comedy AAR and CharactAAR, this was a banner year for our TBC (despite some personal issues of which we are all thinking of you!) Well done, sir!

2nd place in a close race then goes to our dear...

And bringing up the bronze is our two-time winner from the past 2 years...

Quite the stage presented, to be sure. Our other nominees listed in order of the vote:

No matter what position you find yourself on this list, the fact is that someone considered you one of the best 6 writAARs of 2020. Given how many people practice their craft here, that is a huge compliment. Very many congratulations to each of you and especially to @TheButterflyComposer for an excellent year of writing clearly displayed here by this victory.

And now we are down to AAR of the Year which will likely be later in the week (bet you can't guess which it is. ;) ) For now, offer up your congrats and thanks. :)

This is so true. I’m deeply honored to even be on that list!

congratulations to all who got votes, and especially to TBC! :D

Congratulations the feared kelebek @TheButterflyComposer (and get well soon), my dear friend @Bullfilter and numerous other authAARs who made me spend many hours in enjoyment reading your work. Thanks to all who voted and @coz1 for organizing this all. A difficult year for all, but we made it through. I love this community.

Hearty congratulations to TBC on a fine victory, and also to @Bullfilter for taking home a very well deserved bronze. For my part I am genuinely shocked and humbled to have won the silver medal. Did not see that coming at all. My sincerest thanks to everyone who voted for me.

Warm felicitations to all nominated on a fantastic achievement. Many on the list I count as friends, and others I know by reputation alone. Either way, it is an honour to be ranked alongside each and every one of you. :)

Many congratulations to the winners and nominees, all well deserved I'm sure. Now I definitely have to start reading @DensleyBlair 's work. I've had Echoes of a new tomorrow in my 'to read' list for ages, and just never got around to it. Thanks to all those who voted. I'm honoured to be on this list, even if it is 'only' in 11th place.

Some said he was mad to attempt to bribe the voters this year, and clearly he was. But you cannot deny the results, congratulations indeed TBC for a most impressive sweep of the awards.

Clearly doing nothing until the last few months of the year then cranking out a short comedy piece is incredibly effective for award baiting.

Thus I give to you the 2020 WritAAR of the Year:

@TheButterflyComposer
Alright, never thought I'd win this one. And for writing a comedy tutorial shitpost of all things...
Already winner of both the Comedy AAR and CharactAAR, this was a banner year for our TBC (despite some personal issues of which we are all thinking of you!) Well done, sir!
Clearly I need to write more comedy AARs. What an excellent year...for that, at least.
2nd place in a close race then goes to our dear...

@DensleyBlair
And bringing up the bronze is our two-time winner from the past 2 years...

@Bullfilter
Feels very strange to best out (narrowly) a superbly writer and sociopolitical analyst, and the writing machine occasionally known as Bulfilter.
This is so true. I’m deeply honored to even be on that list!

congratulations to all who got votes, and especially to TBC! :D
I am very pleased and surprised with this one. A hattrick of awards is most pleasing.

A great year for AAR despite everything, even issues in the community itself (CK3 tearing it apart even a little).
Warmest congratulations to @TheButterflyComposer and @DensleyBlair and everyone else nominated. Thanks very much for the votes sent my way and of course to @coz1 for going to all this effort.
Indeed, coz1 has done brilliantly in managing all this. Well done to you as well friend.

Given Ged was a flash in the pan fluke, you may yet win for next year if the project continues, which I'm sure it will.
Congratulations, @TheButterflyComposer! And for everyone nominated!

Word.

Many congratulations to everyone who made this most esteemed list. You deserve to be here.

@TheButterflyComposer, @DensleyBlair, and @Bullfilter, well done and congrats again!

Thanks be to all. I've used up any material with two speeches already (what a terrible position to be in).

Happy reading, and here's to the health of AARland!
