Wake Island too far than Marshall Islands to Japan

Hello,

I'm playing as Japan, and I'm having some trouble with colonizing islands in the Pacific. How the Marshall Islands are close to colonisation than Wake Island of Hawaii? I know that the Marshall Islands are with Japanese Micronesia, but this is not just right. I'm far away 151/150 Naval Range to Wake Island. These islands are part of Micronesia, I know, but it looks really weird when you did this colonisation, but not Wake Island.

I remember there being a bit of a bug there. I was able to colonize some islands as long as I clicked on the one closest to me before clicking on anything else. Otherwise it counts distance to the state capital, which may be an island much further away.

Bear in mind that (I think) it calculates distance from the nearest Naval Base and not the nearest piece of territory.

Yes. I have a two-level naval base in Japanese Oceania, but still, I can't colonise Wake Island. In the end, I managed to colonise there.

The other way round. It's not an exploit, but a fix to a temporary bug that can occur.

I have experienced the same in Africa for instance and as Amtep described, clicking on a territoy closer to your naval base before
clicking on the one you want to colonize should make it work, even if several clicks might be required.

It sounds so weird that I don't think it would be real. but I will try anyway.
