Is there a way to get lost units back after the Spanish civil war?

Hi there. I am playing Republican Spain and the Civil war has triggered. I have lost a big chunk of the navy and the airforce to Nationalist Spain. After beating the Nationalists I noticed I did not get my navy/air units back. I am certain that I did not destroy them since the navy units do not show up in the sunk ships list.

Is there a way to get the units back I have lost to nationalist Spain?

They could have died of attrition at sea... they wold not show up in the log

When one side loses a war and is annexed, all of its units are removed from the map. Unfortunately, this hurts Spain in particular, since it would normally have the military hardware of the losing side returned. The developers compensated Germany for the equipment and military units it got historically from Austria, but in practically all other cases the equipment and manpower are simply lost.

It's a shame, mainly because the divisions which one loses are based on RNG as far as I can tell. Oh well, nothing I can do about it. Thanks for the reply Kovax.
