Hopefully war is a long ways out. I don't think Poland could win with its current military. But you seem to be expanding faster than your neighbors, so time is on your side.

Thank you for the update. I am a complete neophyte on Stellaris, but it seems to feature my favorite X, Xplore. Are you diplomatically engaged with any other group?
If I'm not mistaken he designed the game during game setup so that there would be very few actual aliens in the galaxy, and most of the other factions would be other humans - the descendants of those colony ships that left Earth before Poland united the planet. I believe the two factions he's met so far hate the Polish Empire. (Well, one of them are humans hijacked by an alien parasite so their opinions don't count.) I am wondering if the Polish Empire will ever meet a faction that likes them.

It looks like you have a head-start on expansion on your neighbors, but that could be because you've got a snaky-shaped empire.
The Triech are expanding fast...

It's not Stellaris if your empire doesn't do an impression of the Draco constellation at some point.
True. It is only proper. :p
Those were some really interesting science events! In hindsight, the alien vials event leading to gene modification is much more dystopian than I'd ever realized.

Are the Triech harder to find intel on since they're so aggressive, or has it just been bad luck?
Thanks! It's pretty dystopian, indeed.
The reason is I have only two diplomats and I keep finding new contacts I need to research. :) So I had to focus on one of them.

I highly recommend the game. :) The early decades are very Xplore heavy. Right now I only know these two major groups. But that will change soon enough. :)

You will see war pretty soon. I have an update ready now, actually. :)

Correct. There will be a few true alien realms,. but most should be human in origin. :) As for some who likes me.... Well, you will find out! :D

Sorry it has taken some time to write another update, but there is one coming up now! :D RL and all that. :)

2221-2242
2221-2242

As the year 2222 dawned the relic world of Vorsham V was decided to be the next colonization target. Named Konstantia after the famed Empress, the planet had lots of potential.

EZ5gSFY.png

In 2224 the Alvanians begun to claim rightfully Polish territory. Enraged, the Emperor declared Polish claims on Alvanian star systems in return and started a massive buildup of Imperial military capabilities. The economy was secure enough to be able to support more than the force limit, and the force limit would be breached.

en4wHw4.png

In 2225 the Polish realm encountered new aliens. Speculation ran rampant; was this real aliens or another human splinter group?

n0EGNht.png

The next year primitives of Dandar II were discovered though, and these were definitely alien, although humanoid.

jGILNH9.png

On February 1st, 2228, the Emperor ordered a full on strike on the Alvanian Star Coalition. Poland would win, or die trying. The war would be long, bloody, but ultimately victorious, although not as full a victory as the Emperor had hoped, had he lived.

MGEOhH7.png

An alien station of merchants were discovered shortly after the first strike on Alvanian territories, but not much heed was made to this, the war took full priority.

jmIt7s7.png

More worringly was that mere months after the war started, as Polish and Alvanian forces were playing cat and mouse, a new potential threat was discovered in the galactic south. The aliens encountered a few years back turned out to be humans after all; The Great Nagyari Empire was a hegemonic, imperialist empire, in direct competition with Poland. So far, they were surprisingly enough slightly positive inclined to Poland though, so no immediate risk for war was estimated.

WFsOxxK.png

As the war in the north continued to rage, new ships were built and sent from Sol and the surrounding systems en masse, and by 2230 Poland were double their force limit. The Alvanians had big fleets, and bigger starforts, so all ships were needed to wind them down. In 2233 two major battles commenced, which together decimated the Alvanian fleets, and the year after a third major battle happened. Together, these battles meant the Alvanians were spent.

But the Emperor had not enough troops to take their capital, and the first attempt was brushed away. Precious time was used rebuilding the forces, all the while the fleets took on the many starforts that littered Alvanian space. The war was far from over.

In 2235, on February 22nd, the Emperor died in his sleep of old age. His 58-year-old son Pelka was declared new Emperor and he vowed to see the war to its end sooner than later.

Two years later, a nice surprise was revealed. In the north of the Alvanians, a human empire of stardwellers reigned. The Freedweller Confederation, living on space stations and not planets, were actually slightly positive inclined to the Polish Empire!

At this point, the war with the Alvanians were a slog of conquering planets, and all their planets were claimed by Poland. The problem was the public was tired of war, and the realm needed peace. Two Alvanian planets were left unoccupied, but the Emperor realized that full conquest could not be done this time, the realm was too tired of war by this point and needed peace desperately.

As such, a peace settlement was reached at the end of 2242, where the Alvanian capital and most of their systems were annexed by Poland, with two Alvanian colonies and a few less valuable systems were kept under Alvanian control – for now. The Alvanian threat was gone – forever.

Meanwhile, the Triech were expanding fast and getting powerful, all while the Great Nagyari Empire was doing the same, and relations were souring…

The demographics and economy of the Polish Empire after the war was as such:

The Great Nagyari Empire (Written by @Nikolai in 2020)

Do we need to keep our eyes out for the Creature and the Watcher?
The Triech is also from an AAR of mine. :) Alvanians are new for this run, though. And the Freedwellers. Not sure the Creature and the Watcher suits the format, but I am sure they are observing!

Well you still get credit for making me jump. Your Nagyari and Hydari stories are both on the list of AAR's I'm planning to pay homage or at least reference within my own Stellaris Story, so when I saw the Nagyari here I had to do a double-check to make sure I was reading the correct AAR.

Wow, thank you. That is high praise indeed. :)

I like the concept of the Freedwellers, and it's nice they even like you! Nicely done crushing the Alvanians, it looks like you've solidly broken them. Hopefully your neighbors don't pounce on you as you recover.

Poland Stronk into Space! Great Victory! Hopefully, some groups see the wisdom of peacefully joining Poland. Thank you for updating
I will definitely try to woo the Freedwellers, but they hate some of my policies, 3ven though they like me, so a federation will be hard to get.

A few more months, and I would have annexed it whole... But my war weariness were at 100% for too long. Noe to rebuile, delete some starforts and get ready to take on another enemy! That btw is the main weakness of Stellaris, at one point war is the most interesting thing happening. I'd like more internal stuff happening mid and late game.

Definitely did not expect a war so soon! The two new empires Poland has met look very interesting, though there is only enough room for one empire in this galaxy ;) .

In the end, it was all really Poland.

Excited for the conquest of (part of) the Alvanians; but I'm curious how a sizable population of them will fit in with the empire as a whole.

2243-2251
2243-2251

With the first interstellar war over, and successful at that, there were much to be done. The economy was in shambles, but with much potential once some unnecessary starbases and redistribution of the new 40 billion slaves of the Empire. The captured planets were seething and the tomb world home world of the Alvanians were not optimal for normal human habitation. A massive army garrison was built up and much of the population sent to slave away on the other Polish planets the next few years.

Then, the world of Poland exploded into a massive diplomatic change, as new contacts were made en masse overnight. First out was the Bebaki Harmonious State in 2246, another lost colony. Located far east of the Triech, they were a spiritual based monarchy, pacifist and happy to remain cordial to Poland.

n81fWaD.png

Then later the same year came a surprise, as an actual alien race looking like huge spiders contacted Earth. The United Makaru Hierarchy was located close to the Triech and the Emperor deemed them potential allies against the parasite infested humans.

EMYToBr.png

The year 2246 turned out to be not over yet before even more lost colonies were discovered, this time far in the galactic north. The megacorporation Janislaw Productions were led by entrepreneurs of Polish descent, while their neighbors the Roman Empire was a civilization of ancient history nuts by the looks of it, all speaking in Latin and donning Roman inspired clothes to booth. There were also a third civilization located close by that was not in contact with Poland yet. Speculation quickly started on who they might be. Another lost colony?

A33R20P.png

Then the next year, the Freedwellers used their chance as the Alvanians were weak to declare war on the sorry remains of their Empire. The Emperor was not amused, as he wanted their lands for themselves, but he respected their might and will to power, and secretly made plans to take as much as he could from what remained after their war, for himself and his Empire. This year also gave a major breakthrough in military technology, as the means to construct destroyers was finally discovered.

Jb1bw6m.png

2247 also gave way to more diplomatic contacts, as two new civilization approached Earth.

FZUFXvT.png

The Figyar Hierarchy was a real alien empire, who even liked the Polish Empire. A rare occurrence in this vast, cold galaxy.

ltKlWKh.png

The Sildor Commonwealth on the other hand was a lost colony, a democracy intent on building a huge, democratic and just federation. For some reason they do not like Poland.

ynrEcmU.png

As 2248 came by, a new contact was made, real aliens this time, close to the Roman Empire. The Bos’Pachtux were friendly aligned to Poland. At the same time, several alien civilizations were detected close by them, but not yet contacted.

bI8whku.png

L7G34IT.png

The same year another lost colony contacted Earth. The Yldar Union was humans, but they had modified themselves to look like elves, and was very interested in all things Tolkien. They did like Poland though, quite a bit, so the Emperor did not care for their weird ways.

DclugLW.png

V6Q2ZjF.png

Then came 2249. In one single day, no less than four civilizations contacted Earth. Three of them were real aliens, one were a lost colony.

tdkORpI.png

The Quenti Empire were a despotic hegemony which treasured technological improvements over all things.

5aBUbLW.png

The Sutharian United Suns were basically the Quenti in alien disguise.

eHMAcFA.png

The Ik-Nur-Val Sovereignty were the same, but different.

1HFw95F.png

The Qix’Lufran United Nations were hegemonic imperialists led by the military.

xKmhFsV.png

At this point, it was clear that the galaxy was vast and populated and that some kind of intergovernmental body was needed. The Polish Empire supported the notion that a Galactic Community was needed, and work began to form this community of vastly differing civilizations.

gECqbyU.png

Peace through diplomacy, when needed, was good and all. But the Emperor knew the galaxy was a cold and dangerous place and Poland needed ships. Many ships. As such, in 2250, the same year the Galactic Community was proposed, he ordered a vast military buildup to start all over Polish space.

His caution proved to be even truer than he imagined. When the Galactic Community was properly established in 2251, even more civilizations were met. The first of them were a lost colony. Led by robots. The Human Caretakers Initiative showed how wrong it could go if one did not keep control. Robots, the Emperor decreed, were to serve man, but not like this.

F4F01n0.png

Then he met the Space Pope. Literally. Christians who had left Earth during the first wave of exodus, led by His Eminence the Pope. Or anti-pope, possibly. There were still a Pope on Earth, after all.

SVTDji8.png

Another civilization of humans who had modified themselves to look like elves were also discovered, the Blessed Sithrandir Confederacy were avid readers of Tolkien like the Yldar.

9TDj8Cx.png

And finally, the Cevelli Empire, another lost colony. With the recent buildup of forces, the Polish Empire seemed secure, at least from the admittedly sparse intelligence available, and at least if facing her opponents one on one. The Triech Absorbers were still powerful enough to be a danger, though.
