Some may be reading my narrative AAR “Crowns of the Levant” which takes place in the universe of another AAR I had written in French.
It was an AAR in 8 volumes about the history of the Kingdom of Jerusalem from the Council of Clermont (1095) to a certain event in 1274. It is a historical book type AAR, a genre I am particularly fond of and for which I am better known in the French-speaking community.
As a bonus for English readers, I decided to translate this prequel and publish it. The publication will not be weekly because it takes a lot of time, but I will publish each time a whole volume (whereas for the French version, I published chapter by chapter). The priority remains the weekly publication of Crowns of the Levant.
A note on translation: historical books are much easier to translate than narratives, but, of course, screenshots from the game are in French. Some of the photoshoped illustrations will sometimes be in French, because I no longer have the originals. Fortunately, these are only names or terms that, thanks to William the Conqueror, are simple enough for English speakers (bataille = battle ; siège = siege).

Finally, a few details:
- version played is 1.2.2, with 3 cosmetic mods (CFP + Title rank portraits + Fullscreen Barbershop);
- Before the crusade, I played the king of France;
- In contrast to Crowns of the Levant, some French, German or Byzantine names are translated into English or Latinised, which is more appropriate for historical books. In order to respect historical conventions, some other names (often Italian or Spanish) are not. For the sake of clarity, Arabic names preceded by al, such as al-Mustali, are capitalized (Al-Mustali);
- Some titles have been changed to respect the nomenclature of the game. Thus the counts of Toulouse or Flanders are dukes.
