Alliance with a King of the Westerlands can be important. Could they be targets for Armistead's expansionism in the future? Though he still has to deal with the Bay of Crabs and the other Kings of the River, Armistead is smart enough to plan his next steps right now.
King Armistead knows he needs to integrate all of The Riverlands' territories under his rule before venturing out.

Chapter IV - Situation in Other Regions of Westeros

Starting with the Westerlands, King Gerold II managed to become the King of the Westerlands, the enemy coalition was defeated, with this he showed that the Rock really is superior to the other small kingdoms in the Westerlands, some kings then swore loyalty to him eternally, they are King Gylbert V of Fair Isle, King Roland of Crakehall and King Addam II of Homvale, only King Landyll of Golden Hills did not submit to King of the Westerlands, more on account of his alliance with High King Armistead, now King Gerold of Westerlands still doesn't see himself powerful enough to challenge The Riverlands.

In Blackwater Bay, Shadow King Damon IV of Dusklands grows stronger after vassalizing the Lords in the regions of The Claw and The Hook, he is currently at war with Lady Alysanne of Dragonstone, a High Valyrian of House Velaryon. First Speaker Ralph Rosby of The Blackwater is devastated, after the region is sacked by the troops of High King Armistead of the Riverlands, leaving him in a weak position before the Shadow King, who has his son Damon betrothed to Princess Myranda, daughter of Armistead, who probably plundered the lands of Blackwater to have a powerful ally east of the Riverlands, but this diplomacy could go wrong because of Shadow King's ambition.

In the Vale, High King Roland II Arryn stands firm in ruling these long-united lands.

In the north, the rivalry of Houses Stark and Bolton rages, the confederacy of the two kingdoms comes to an end, and King Theon Stark of Winterfell feels increasingly pressured to enter a war against Red King Domeric V Bolton of Dreadlands. At the same time King Roger Glover of Wolfswood continues to advance on the lands of the mountain clans and their King Hareth Knott. Swamp King Gariss Reed of The Neck fights alongside King Helman Dustin of The Barrows against the invasion of Lord Sefton of Goodfaith. The Andals in the north hold fast to the suzerainty of Warlord Alester of the Seven Steps, surviving the constant attacks of the first men.

In the Reach, the power of High King Garth VIII of The Reach weakens under the influence of the Lord Marshals of House Peake, Tarly, Footly and Osgrey, hardly expands, while the Kings of The Shields, The Golden Grove and The Arbor thrive. While the Grey King od Oldtown fights back rebellious lords through his lands.

In the lands of the Storms, the Durrandon's power appears to be waning, Storm King Durran XXV finds himself in civil war, where lords seek independence, most notably Marshal Bryce of the Mark of Dornish and others from the House Buckler and House Follard. The Rolland Kings of Rainwood and King Eldorion of Wrath remains strong, while the Eveningstar Aemon of Sapphre Isle is heavily weakened after Lord Harlon Connington conquers Western Tarth.

1662601334270.png

Dorne continues to be the most diverse region and the most governed by Petty Kings, with about 15 independent kingdoms, in addition to several other independent Lords, but it can be said that the Green King Morrin of Rock and Sand continues to gradually impose his suzerainty under the several lords around, while Star King Garrison Dayne of Torrentine peacefully remains the most powerful King in Dorne.

It seems as if the only kingdoms from canon that are stably united are the Westerlands, the Vale, and the Riverlands (mostly).

In 100-200 years I think most would die out, CK2 AI really doesn't know how to make marriages. Last time I left the mod running for 800 years in observer mode and the original houses were almost all extinct, and there were many House Smiths around the map xD

Chapter V – Final Years of Armistead and Succession

High King Armistead views the Bay of Claws region as part of the Riverlands. King Florian V Mooton swore that he would become Armistead's vassal if he won the war against High King Tristifer, but after the victory, King Florian returned with his word, while Armistead needed order in the Riverlands, on account of the various families that they still followed the old gods. So, King Armistead declares war on the Kingdom of Bay of Claws, ruled by 15-year-old Merrell Mooton, who even suffers from leprosy, while Lord Harl of Saltpans, the Master at Arms, is regent of the realm, and effectively is still in charge. In 7 months, the High King's army win the Battles of Apprieu and Agassac, but the war is won after taking Maidenpool, Stony Shore, Tannerfield and Belhedge.

After a few years, Armistead dies at 49 naturally, his name will surely be legendary in the future, several songs about his achievements will be played throughout the Riverlands. His eldest son ascends to the throne as High King Robert Vance. The beginning of his reign is taken by the intrigue that the various lords throughout the Riverlands practice, the culture of small independent kingdoms are still strong in their veins, High King Robert urgently needs to unite the andals and first men and the two beliefs under a single one ruler at least. But the early years are fruitless as Robert is more concerned with organizing tournaments and spending time with his lover, Kyra Tully, his brother's wife, with whom he has a bastard daughter, Josua Rivers. His brother soon leaves his court, but Kyra remains, even though the two remain officially married, Queen Ellinor Buckler is left aside, her family feels disrespected by the High King.

Chapter VI – Civil War of The Riverlands, Invasion of The Westerlands

Several lords, led by Lord Roban Terrick, pressure the High King to recognize his independence and that of several other lords, otherwise bloodshed would ensue in the Riverlands. The High King Robert does not accept their demands, causing the start of a civil war.

High King Robert achieves his first victory by winning the small Battle of Lolliston, against the armies sent by Lord Florys Paege of Blackwood Vale. Weeks later, Lord Mathis of Westcombe is captured at the Battle of Armendarits. With a year of war, the rebel armies are all defeated, the rebellion's lack of organization becomes a weapon in Robert's favor, who defeats them in several battles, with the most important being the Battle of Goodshire where
1.535 rebels perish in battle, and the Battle of Saltpoole where 1.747 of the rebels are killed. With Wycombe taken, the rebels surrender to Robert and his army near the Trident.

1662746683663.png

Confident after winning the civil war, High King Robert then begins an invasion of the Westerlands, a land ravaged by civil war, an opportunity for the Andals, perhaps King James 'the Red' Lannister will be a great challenge to the Kingdom of Riverlands. 10.000 Andal soldiers meet 1.532 westermen soldiers at the Battle of Branstone, the numbers heavily weighed in favor of Robert defeating troops commanded by Lord Quenten of Banefort, an interesting mid-battle combat took place between the 20 year old Lord Tregar of Sarsfield against the Lord Vypren of Blue Fork, the youngest was no match for the 64-year-old man, still known for his mastery with the sword. At the Battle of Fossi, King James of the Westerlands in command of his troops suffers a heavy defeat against Lord Petyr of Erenford, 4.000 of the men of the west lose their lives on the battlefield. The Riverlands army stays months near the border, conquers the Castle of Ashemark and the Castle of Glitterdell of the most important. Tired of not advancing, High King Robert with his allies orders deeper sieges into enemy territory.

The new assaults of the Riverlands army work, soon conquering Hornvale Castle, an important defense point in the region. The army arrives at Lionpass after 2 years and 4 months of war, which is soon won with the strategy of separately defeating the great army of King James of the Westerlands, who with the result of his defeat, starts to pay early tribute to the High King of The Riverlands.

1662746888965.png

The Riverlands might be stable for a while... but I doubt that they will be stable forever. The lords are just biding their time.

The conquest of the Westerlands could mean the beginning of a great empire, but it could also result in the Riverlands being overstretched.

The new King is making his mark, to be sure.

Chapter VII – Wars in Dusklands, the End of Traditional Houses, Wars between Kings

High King Robert formed an alliance with Shadow King Yohnen Darklyn of the Dusklands, hoping for a strong ally in the West, but at the moment received only calls for help against Criston other Darklyn's invasion, Jaremy Staunton's invasion and Renly's rebellion. All intent on claiming the Kingdom of Dusklands for themselves. With
10.000 troops, Robert heads for the lands of the Dusklands, defeats Renly Staunton's forces, and takes the Caslte of Rook's Rest. Robert would still cross Blackwater Bay to defeat Criston Darklyn, ending the Dusklands Wars.

In the same year, Lord Tristifer IV's bloodline ends, the Mudds officially become extinct, all male family members die. The last, Lord Brynden VII Mudd dies at the age of 50 from cancer, the great enemies of House Vance are now passed. High King Robert makes his eldest son Lewys the Lord of Oldstones, the former home of the Mudds. Justice, the hammer and great treasure of House Mudd passes to House Vance, Justice was personally forged by Tristifer in his youth, the colossal war hammer trumps all weapons on the battlefield. Only used by a man strong enough to carry him into battle. It is also often used on ceremonial occasions such as executions and coronations.

After 186 years in power, House Arryn of the Vale may have come to an end, High King Joffrey of Mountain and Vale dies at age 30, under suspicious circumstances. He had no son, only a daughter, Princess Perra, who may still revive House Arryn, but hardly could, as Artos of House Bael inherited the Kingdom, in addition to the guardianship of Princess Perra Arryn. High King Robert arranges a betrothed marriage for his son Prince Osmynd to Princess Perra Arryn.

In The Reach, High Queen Alerie Gardener inherits, after the death of her father, High King Garth VIII, but the court finds itself dominated by practitioners of the Faith of the Moosingers, of Essos, an insult to the Faith of the Seven, with that King Loren Lannister of the Westerlands declares war on the Reach, to place Princess Olenna Gardener, a faithful of the Old Gods, on the throne, war was declared after the campaign fiasco of the Gray King Damon II of Oldtown, who failed to conquer The Reach for him.

At the Battle of Lesdins, High King Robert's Army of 10.000 soldiers defeats the reach army of 7.600 soldiers, with 2.285 enemies perishing in battle. Again, Robert wins at the Battle of Highrose, which even captures the commander of the reach army, Lord Alester Tyrell of Manderford, with Highgarden falling a few months later to Robert. At the same time as Lord Quenten defeats Lord Marshal Mern's army at the Battle of Gamerwalde. The war is won after taking some regions, the Lord Marshals then accept Olenna Gardener's coronation as High Queen, they already despised High Queen Alerie and her belief in the Moosingers anyway.

Robert is certainly flying high.

With all the traditional foes now long dead, clearly time to start working on "creating" the next set of foes to be the traditioanl foes of the next generation. Always want to ensure your heirs have some traditional foes after all. It's good for the blood, or somesuch.

The Riverlands peacefully takes some level of control in the Vale.

I could honestly see them as a candidate for uniting Westeros in due time... although they will need to worry about dragons.

How is Valyria doing, anyway? Is it in the mod? Is Essos in the mod? How is the Targaryen Conquest represented in game?

The map ends just before the source of the Rhoyne River. There is a Viceroy of the Valyrian Freehold with its capital in Lys, with the rest of the Free Cities (apart from Braavos) under the Viceroy's leadership. It works like China in vanilla, luckily I only use the game rule of only adventurers going west, and there is no dragon, unless someone uses a submod that adds the dragon mechanics in the mod, which I'm not using. The Velaryons are lords of Dragonstone and the Celtigars of Cracklaw Point. Targaryes don't exist, as the mod takes place almost 1500 years before they went to Westeros.

Chapter VIII (FINAL) – Ambitions of High King Lewys Vance

After 46 years of High King Robert Vance's reign, his grandson would reign as High King Dudley Vance for 6 years, then give way to his son, High King Lewys Vance, who for years tried to unify the Riverlands as High King Armistead did, this time to complete it. So, he declares war on King Kendel Byrch of God's Eye, the kings of God's Eye were former allies of House Vance, they helped High King Armistead to crown himself King of Riverlands.

1662956040885.png

Troops commanded by Lord Gerion Grave, defeats King Kendel Byrch's less numerous army in the Battle of Darren's Tower, which after taking the Caslte of God's Shore, King Kendel's forces surrender. After the war, Kendel becomes the Lord of God's Shore, instead of a King. High King Lewys Vance becomes overlord also of Lord Denys Byrch of The Horn.

House Darklyn dominates most of the Blackwater Bay region, but they are separated by distinct entities, Selyse Darklyn leads the Consulate of Blackwater as First Consort, Jon II Darklyn is the Shadow King of Dusklands, and Qarlton Darklyn ascended the throne in The Claw. The great Kingdom of Shadow King Yohnen Darklyn had split after his death.

1662956445439.png

High King Lewys Vance then takes advantage of the situation, invades the Kingdom of The Claw claiming the kingdom for his wife, Queen Alyce Darklyn. The war lasts for 2 years, but all battles are won by the troops of High King Lewys Vance, who still conquers vast regions and puts it under the control of his wife, who is soon after crowned Queen of The Claw.

Years later, High King Lewys Vance turns against House Piper, historic allies of House Vance, a war of subjugation begins, King Leon II Piper of Acom's Ridge refuses to surrender, so his lands are invaded. The war goes on for 1 year and 3 months, in the middle of it King Leon II Piper dies in battle against Lord Gerion Grave, so the Master of Mossoins accepts the High King's terms on behalf of the 14 year old King Criston Piper.

But there was still one more King in Riverlands that should be dethroned, he was King Walder Bracken of Southstone, who for decades were allies of House Vance, but High King Lewys saw them now as weak Kings, who served the Vances decades ago, because of several wars that required allies, now House Vance is strong enough not to need the help of the Brackens. The war soon ends after the Battle of Avanne, where 6.819 soldiers commanded by Lord Gerion Grave defeat the small Bracken army commanded by King Walder Bracken, the last King of Southstone. With this achievement, House Vance finally becomes the High Lords of The Riverlands, where only one King or High King can exist. With a lot of influence in Dusklands, House Vance finds itself in the middle of three other great kingdoms, the kingdoms of the Lannisters, the Gardeneners and the Baels, although apparently a war between the Vances and the Baels is very likely because of the problem of succession on The Vale.

Have the Ironborn been causing much trouble? I see the new Vance Kingdoms western coast is vulnerable to raids, best to make sure the local lords there are good warriors.

Not so much, maybe they are more focused on the Reach, The castles on the western coast are hugh, Oldstones and the Tully seat are really good.

What kingdom do the Baels rule?

Good job getting rid of the contenders to the throne. Will you conquer the Crownlands next?
