Greetings!

I would love to play Skirmish multiplayer.... like I need to play this really badly.

I have already installed this mod above, yes Mods are enabled, I know the directory folder, and I can see the mod is enabled in the game under mods....

I am still finding there are zero lobbies anywhere. I can host one but I have no way of knowing if anyone is online.

Am I missing something?

I have no way of knowing if this mod works but nobody else in this community exists online in the world, or does this mod not do anything?

Can someone confirm if they are playing multiplayer matches ??

I do not use multiplayer personally but from what I have heard There are almost no random matches - most people arrange matches with friends or use one of the forums to ask if someone is interested.

hey, is it possible to explain how to do the mod thing. A few of my friends tried and still can not get it to work. Miss playing the game. thanks
Yea you download the files from the link provided above and create a folder with the same name of the file from the link above "BtMpFix. Then you naviagte to the mods folder in the C drive and paste that folder you created in there. Then you start the game, and click activate mods. Then reload the game and you should see it enabled in the game. The directions tell you everything needed.

However, I am showing this as enabled but still find zero lobbies so wondering how much of a successful 'Fix' this is

@TinyWiking - any updates on this?

No update, no, as we're not investigating it ><. If it's showing as enabled in the game then it's enabled but if you're not finding any lobbies there aren't any publicly available. That's nothing we can "fix" since that's not a game issue.

Assuming you've had a look at the instructions in the top post, one thing that wasn't super obvious on first read was that you have to manually make a new folder underneath "mods" and extract the zip into that, you _don't_ want to extract directly into "mods". The post mentions naming it "BtMpFix", I don't know if the name actually matters but naming it that way and extracting the zip there worked for me.

Good luck!

Was there a particular reason that you stopped developing for this game? There are literally decades of content you could create new campaigns from.
There are enough hard-core gamers that would open up wallets to make it worthwhile.

Here is the announcement from the developers:

Windows: C:\Users\{user_name}\Documents\My Games\BattleTech\mods

Regarding such path, would be the same for a PC which its windows is in spanish?

On the other hand, how can I know which my user? When I go to "C:\Users" there is no any user. In my case, there are only 3 folders: "Public access", "Default" and "User".

For those of you who want to see if your Multiplayer fix is working, I've set up an open lobby. Hopefully I'll be able to have it active for the next few hours. I'll try to have that available semi-regularly. If anyone would like to coordinate a specific time to join a match, feel free to send me a direct message. I have no mods installed for this lobby (aside from the MP Fix) but I do have all DLCs. (I'm not sure if a DLC mismatch between players will cause problems.)

I am not an IT guy. Can you just fix the issue for your average user. This is getting to be a frinkin joke!!!
I am an IT person, and yeah, this better be but it ain't.
Just wanted to hop on with a friend after two years of not playing and they killed the game. Great job :)

And no, I did not install any fix. I can't find the game of my friend and vice versa. I am not going to fiddle with some mods. I want my product to work.
It's been three months. Fix it.

If you want to play multiplayer, then the solution has been presented. That’s all we’re getting since the game has no active development anymore.

I'll have a lobby up fairly often so people can check to see if their installation of the mod fix works.

It seems like players can connect and start a match even if they don't have the BT MP Fix mod installed, but the game will disconnect during the first combat turn. More details and crash files are available in this bug report.

After some additional testing, it seems that the game language matters. I strongly suspect that this has to do with the decimal separator localization mentioned in the bug report, since Russian and German and French write one-half as 0,5 but English writes it as 0.5. Sorta funny that English is the problem language. :)

The workaround is to have both clients in English, or neither client in English.

I just had a match against someone who did not have the BT MP Fix installed, and we were able to play the game. Both clients were in English. It looks like it's sufficient for just the host to have the fix installed, as long as the game languages are compatible.

Thank you for the mod patch, I was able to get it to work on my windows machine and another windows machine belonging to a friend, but the person I am trying to play with has a steam deck. I am having difficulty locating the file location to drop the mod into. I know for some games there is the workshop option on steam, but it is not present for this game. I am very much a novice when it comes to this sort of thing and I am probably missing a simple step, trying to follow the linux filepath isnt working. Are there any steps someone can suggest that I may be missing?

I've been trying to get this mod to somehow work on the Steam Deck, and have been unable to figure it out. While I got it to work on my personal windows laptop, I cannot figure out how to install it at all on my son's Steam Deck. Any help or ideas at all would be helpful. I did go along and create the "home\deck\my games\battle tech\mods" folder file path, but its... not working? Sorry as a noob here, im a bit lost on Arch Linux, as I only know Windows.

Unfortunately no ><. As we don't have developers actively working on the game this is the only solution.
So it's been over 8 months now since the multiplayer aspect of the game was abandoned and no longer works (while I appreciate the mod, it's not actually a part of the game and cannot be listed as content), will the Steam page be updated and remove "Online PvP" and "Cross-Platform Multiplayer" or should I contact Steam about that instead?
