Hi! I recently purchased Victoria 3. However, every time I tried launching the game it would crash. Is it not possible to play Victoria 3 on a 2020 MacBook Air? Mine is an intel with an Intel Iris Plus Graphics 1536 MB card.
Thanks for responding! I can't seem to find this information atm, but if I recall it said something about installation error. I tried redownloading the game, but it still crashed. However, just to clarify, theoretically my MacBook is capable of plaything this game, then?see logs at

without logs we won't be able to know what's the cause of crash.
your mac most likely would have unplayable lag in mid to late game, but it shouldn't crash on startup
you absolutely should be able to at least launch the game, depending on your memory configuration (8gb or 16gb), you're likely out of memory mid to late game and eventually crashThanks for responding! My 16gb mbp frequently run out of memory late game, I'd suggest you wait until 1.2 is released and see if the situation improvesyeah, my computer has 8gb of memory. I might buying it again and see if I still have issues with launching it.

I don't think it will ever work on that machine I'm afraid!
- Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-6500
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: AMD® Radeon™ R9 M380 (2GB)
While PDX not officially support Iris, Iris and radeon support exact the same opengl capability, radeon has more metal capabilities but I don't think vic3 used metal yet (may be soon? I see there's a dx 12 beta build under windows, vulkan build run through moltenvk may be incoming). Just like under windows, most games not officially support intel integrate graphics but that doesn't stop the game from launching as long as the dx version is supported, and some would be playable with lowered setting, others may be ppt show. Thanks for responding! That's a shame. I think I might look into buying a cheap Windows computer, eventually. What computer would you recommend for this game? Preferably, something under $500.
I am not at all across the hardware options available these days I'm sorry. Here are the recommended requirements for the Windows edition:Thanks for responding! That's a shame.
