In my FTM game as the Allies we have began helping out against Japan in 1938. It's almost too late as the Comminists have surrendered to Japan, and the Nationalists are also within a hairs breadth of going too. The other warlords like Guangxi are healthy.

I can send Allied divs to the coastal provinces and recapture them for Nat. This gives a breathing room for them. Due to obvious supply issues it's harder to get my French divs further inland. My question is whether this strategy is worthwhile? If Nat Chi falls will Guangxi take over as the defacto Chinese regime? I don't see any of their claims on wider China.

If I remember correctly - and there are no guarantees of that since FTM was a VEEEEEEEERY long time ago - the various warlord cliques cannot assume the mantle of China so once Commies and Nationalists are gone, that's it.

Thanks. I was kind if guessing that as the other warlords don't seem to have core claims ( flags on province screen) for the rest of China.

Comm Chi has gone Gov-in-exile. I'm guessing they will get the liberated territory claims if Nat falls? If Nat goes GiE too then it'll be a toss up between them?

If neither had gone GiE then I could have scooped up the provinces and laid down supply.

I suppose my outlook should be to try and keep Nat Chi in the game if I don't want the Comintern to gain in the long run? Nat currently has first choice on the liberated areas.

So by taking coastal provinces for the National Chi side I have kept them in the game. They're producing units and linking up my enclaves in a useful counter-offensive.

What's odd is that the Nats have never given it's allies military access. So Yunnan and Guangxi are sitting on hoards of units that don't cross into Nat territory to fight the Japanese. I'm contemplating a bit ot tag-switching to change this?
