Why? When you start a city that's when you decide such things. Not later.
If I can alter the weather, time and bulldozing features - why not this? I bet there's many who start a map and are disappointed they can't make a change to this feature. Not a big problem, just irritating when there is so much that can be reconfigured in CSR

What is the reason why the DLCs' past airports weren't included when the remastered version was released? I think it's probably been answered before but I can't find it. Also is there any news on those DLCs' progress? Thank you dev teams for working hard!!!

The DLC past airports are still in the process of being remastered. No exact date was given, but they said they'll be here in a few months.

It's literally in the first post in this thread.

Currently, all DLCs until the 2023 release of "Airports" are Remastered. We are currently working on the remastered versions of the remaining DLCs (Plazas & Promenades, Financial Districts and all Content Creator Packs and Radio Stations released fall 2022) They will be available soon!

They weren't released because they aren't done remastering them.

Is the Remastered version free?
  • Yes, if you already own the Base Game or any DLCs, the Remastered version of those products will be available to you without any additional cost. Please note that this only applies to digital purchases, scroll down for more information.
Will I be able to play with all my DLCs?

Is cross saves between the versions possible?
  • No, unfortunately not. The saves will only be available on the version you used when saving your City.
Will I be able to unlock all 25 tiles?
  • Yes!
Is the Remastered only available on PS5 and Xbox X|S
  • Yes
Will PS4 and Xbox One also get remastered?
  • No, unfortunately, the Remastered versions will only be available on PS5 and Xbox X|S. One of the main features we wanted to add was 25 tiles to build onto and sadly the older hardware of the PS4 and Xbox One would not be able to handle the simulation scale.
When will I get access to the new features?
  • Release of Cities: Skylines remastered is February 15th!
Can I still play my old Cities: Skylines Saves?
  • Yes, you can still play the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Cities: Skylines, there you have access to your old saves.
If I buy any of the New DLCs that are not remastered yet, will I get them later?
  • Yes, any content purchased for either version will give you a free copy of the Remastered version once that piece of content becomes available.
Will remastered be available for PC?
  • This is a Console-only update. The PC version of the game already has similar features that have not been accessible to the Console community - until now!
Will I have access to the remastered version automatically?
  • You need to download the remastered version of the base game and your DLCs manually, but they will be available without any additional cost automatically.
Why can't we have cross-saves?
  • The architecture of Cities: Skylines Remastered is different from its predecessor, to be able to accommodate Higher graphic quality, increased buildable tiles and overall better performance. Because of the technical limitations of old-gen consoles, we could not apply the same changes to that version, meaning it's two different code bases for the games - hence cross saves are not possible.
Can I upgrade my current Cities to the Remastered version?
  • See the answer above regarding save games and cross saves.
I can't access Remastered in Japan!
  • The release of Remastered on PS5 in the Japanese store is slightly delayed, it will be available soon!

I have a physical copy of Cities: Skylines, am I eligible for a free upgrade to Remastered?
  • Only digital purchases are eligible for a free upgrade to Remastered.
Why is there a price on the DLCs I own?
  • In some cases, you might see the price until you click on it. Once you click on the DLC, you should then see “install” instead of the price.
I have a PS Plus version of Cities: Skylines. Why can't I access Remastered for free?
  • If you own a PS Plus version of Cities: Skylines that you claimed from the 2020 giveaway of the game on PS Plus, you will not be able to access Remastered for free. You will have to buy the game to own it & get a free upgrade for Remastered.
Will the 4 lane small road be coming out on remastered

Is this really impossible to adapt saves to the remastered version ?
I mean you could just transfer your map, roads, buildings, unlocked unique buildings, because there is no new ones !
We could extend our city to 25 tiles and continue it...
Not being able to do so is very frustrating.

I started a new city, reached 10,000 population and I am already bored because I realized I have to do everything I have already done to unlock buildings, I have to rebuild interchanges because there is no new ones and no asset editor.

If I start over with 25 tiles, it’s a cheat, so I won’t unlock awards or trophies.

There is a map editor but we can’t even edit existing ones.

I know I’m a bit too negative and I should be thankful to get this remastered.
I was very enthusiast when it released, but quickly disappointed by what I told before.

For a long time player, this CS remastered is mostly frutrating and I hope updates will add new features soon...

This is a joke, right? I have a physical copy and bought every dlc to play and support a game I love. And now you want me to buy it all again just because I did‘t buy the game in the way you preferred?
I‘ve spent so much money and this is how you thank your loyal gamers.
Not gonna spend a single cent more on this!

No. You can just grab the base game and use all DLC's there instead of.

Just submit a query with the Advertising standards agency as this was a complete case of false advertising

Is there further planned development for Consoles? I don't mean just dlc or ccp.
I mean is there enhancement, enrichment now the software has been lifted to higher level of code?

Can we look forward to features that are comparable to the likes of :
- Tile painter
- move it
- traffic management
- some sort of console workshop (as console mod browser isn't there no more on remastered)
- asset editor
- enhancement of picker to select from within the assets like the fence or part of a factory building that can be placed

as this is a great game and can be made !!awesome!! even on console!

It’s pretty ironic that they exclude ps+ owners to make more money. I’ve bought a lot of dlc because I wanted to support the devs. This upgrade would have made me buy the remaining dlc that I don’t have yet. If the update would have been free, I would have spent more than €40,- on dlc. Now I’ll wait for a sale and probably buy a lot less dlc because I don’t feel the desire to support the devs. Your loss Paradox. Very shortsighted business practice you got there.

The game would have been built by using a branch of code which was then specifically built using the technology of the newer platforms. It would be almost impossible to convert the old map I'd say. As it's a brand new game I have no issue starting again. I still have my old cities on the ps4 edition saved so can easily go and play that if I felt the need.
The talk about 25 tiles cheat I've actually changed camps on, I was a bit surprised but again...the achievements and things can all be achieved as before and then when you have done them simply create a new city with the cheat 25 tiles on. Simples. It's not that big a deal really now I've got my head around it.

Ps+ users got the base game free right, but really I don't think so. I'm not affected by this but I can see the frustration amongst you. Ultimately you are a subscriber to Sony, you pay them monthly for the right to download games. The blame I don't think is at the game Dev here. What you should be getting mad at is PS + not offering you the Remastered edition at the same or discounted price. I don't think this is anything to do with paradox actually. They simply using the ps store to say did this user buy the game yes/no... As the download is from ps + it's technically not been purchased.
