I have been trying to figure out why I can no longer earn achievements on EU4. I am in ironman and when I hover over the greyed out trophy it says that I am not logged into steam. However, I have signed out and back into steam and restarted my game several times with nothing fixing the issue. Has anyone found an actual fix to this or am I doomed to never earn another achievement?

How exactly did you start eu4? And is steam in online mode?

I started the game with the shortcut I have and I just double checked that Steam is in fact online
Does it help if you start eu4 from the play button in the library section of the steam client? If your shortcut starts eu4.exe (or dowser.exe or the launcher) directly, they won't be able to properly communicate with steam even if steam is running in the background. This problem has existed for a while. AFAIK it happens, because eu4 doesn't have a steam_appid.txt which tells it which steam app id it should use
