Qorten has given me permission for this AAR to be fully interactive.
Hello everyone! Welcome to Yumahang Mundhum - A Himalayan iAAR.
RULES
First things first, here are the golden rules that all players must follow -
1. There must be clear distinction between Out of Character and In Character posts, which will be started with Character Names in large bold letters and an image of your character (do not worry, I will be providing you with updated images of your character as they progress). This will help to keep track of who is who and make things easier for everyone involved.
2. Each player can only pick one character. These "Player Characters" must be a member of my court. If you wish, you can even select a character who can join my court. For this, I will be uploading my save file from time to time whenever necessary.
3. The job of Player Characters is to advise the ruler, which will be controlled by me, in making major decisions (marriages, alliances, war, etc). Whenever a major decision needs to be made, I will allocate a certain amout of fixed time for voting. Within this time period, the players must vote through In Character posts.
4. Player Characters will be rewarded with titles whenever a war is successful and lands are taken (you will thus become my vassals and gain more powers but every player must first start with an unlanded character). Or when the ruler revokes the titles of a disloyal vassal.
5. I will notify players if any important events that happens to their character (a child is born, character gets sick or they join a plot, etc). You can roleplay and make In Character posts regarding these events if you wish to do so.
6. If a character dies, the player can choose to either play as the character's child or a completely new character in the court who will then be given an honorary title available.
7. A player whose character has died has the golden ability to pick a character who is already a vassal.
8. You can join any time.
9. Players should respect other players and no one will be allowed to make personal insults on other person Out of Character. I will terminate the character of anyone who violates this rule and prevent them for ever submitting another character.
Votes
The main actions taken by players throughout this iAAR will be through votes. However, not all votes are equal.
1. All Player Characters get 1 vote.
2. Player Characters who have gained landed titles get additional votes depending on your rank. Which means, +1 vote for baron or equivalent. A +2 vote if you hold a county or more. A +3 vote if you hold a duchy or more. A +4 vote if you hold a kingdom or more...You get the point.
3. You get +1 vote if you are a member of the ruler's council and +1 vote if you have a Court Position.
4. Player Characters who are close to the ruler (family, friend or lover) will get a further +1 vote. These votes stack if you are say both the lover and the spouse of the ruler or a friend or family.
5. If you have additional votes, you should include a note at the end of your In Character vote post mentioning so. Generally, I will keep track of those things but sometimes I might make mistakes. Better to include them if you have these extra votes so that other players can know as well.
First Vote
Without any further delay, let us being the first voting. Now, this will be done through Out of Character means. Future voting will have to be made by In Character posts (I will be sharing an example soon). Here, we are selecting which dynasty our Himalayan ruler will be from (and yes, we will be forming the Himalayan culture)
A. The Last Licchavi

In Real Life, Manadeva IV was the last Licchavi king. This Buddhist dynasty had originated from Vaishali in Bihar, India and ushered the Golden Period of Nepal. Can this old man prevent the extinction of his dynasty?
B. Katyuri Kings

Initially Buddhist, the Katyuri dynasty adopted Hinduism during the reign of Basantadeva's father. Over time, the Katyuri kings will be known for constructing several Hindu temples in Uttarakhand, India. Will the Katyuris be able to avoid dynastic fragmentation which plagued them in Real Life?
C. Lasahangs of Limbuwan

Uba Hang, the first Lasahang ruler of Limbuwan, had brought many changes to the animistic folk religion of the Kirati people. He had taught his subjects to worship Tagera Ningwaphuma with flowers and fruits instead of blood sacrifice and introduced the festival of Tong Sun Tong Nam to honor the supreme being. Uba Hang passed away in 865 and was succeeded by his son Mabo. Will the reign of this new Hang be able as fondly remembered as that of his father?
D. Father of Srijunga

In Real Life, Srijunga Yangwarok is considered to be one of the greatest Kirati rulers to have ever existed for he invented the Srijunga script and introduced the land reform known as Kipat system (in which the land was communal property of a village or clan and could not be sold to outsiders). In the year 867, however, Srijunga is still a 9 years old boy and his father Jungahang is a vassal of the Lasahangs. Can Jungahang's son take over Limbuwan in the future?
E. Yuma Sammang of Yakthungs

The Yakthung, also known as the Limbu, are a Kirati people who worship Yuma Sammang, the female personification of the supreme being Tagera Ningwaphuma, as Mother Nature. Yumaists are much more monotheistic and believe that the Kiratists have been corrupted by influences from neighboring Dharmic religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism. The religion is also exclusive to the Limbu people, in contrast to the Kiratist faith which has followers from all Kirati tribes. In Crusader Kings 3, Yumaism exists as an obscure faith which only exists in one county: Daramdin which is ruled by a man named Na Hang. Can Daramdin overthrow the Kiratist overlords and spread the word of Yuma Summang?
The Out of Character voting ends on Sunday February 4, 2024. After it is done, I will be sharing the save file and providing the list of characters which you can select to start this iAAR.
