I noticed that when I use a reconquest CB on behalf of my vassal, during the peace deal, the province war score cost is lower when I select the "return core" option (3rd tab of peace deal), rather than selecting to cede the provinces directly to my vassal (first tab of the peace deal). The AE is also slightly different. Is this a bug or WAD?

In the attached example, myself as Byzantium declared a reconquest CB on the Mameluks for Syria's cores. I transferred the occupation of all the Syrian cores to Syria. In the peace deal, when I chose to cede provinces to Syria directly (i.e. by clicking on the map, as you would in a typical peace deal), the provinces cost me 81 war score and generates 22 AE. When I chose to instead give back the same exact provinces to Syria using the "return core" tab, it only costs 56 war score and generates 25 AE. Surely this is not working as intended?

Reactions:
If I am not mistaken the "* war score" modifiers are applied. Without modifiers it is better to give directly the war target(always choose the most expensive one as it gets 50% war score discount) and "return core "the others. This way you get "returned province" +30 improved relations for each returned province. If you have stacked the "war score" modifiers then it may be cheaper to even "return core" the target. Play around with those 2 options to get the best result

On the peace screen hover over the cb and itll tell you the effects.

Is Syria occupying the provinces? Transfer the occuation. The peace option Ar-Raqqah is greyed out which makes me think the provines are going to you not the subject.
Yes, Syria is occupying the provinces. The option to return Ar-Raqqah is greyed out on the return core tab because Ar-Raqqah is already selected on the map to be annexed by Syria. I can’t retake the screenshot because it’s an Ironman game and I’ve moved on, but it’s easy enough to replicate in the game.
